Not too easy to find
Everything. Our “Factory” room was quirky, imaginatively decorated, spacious, clean and very comfortable and the delicious evening meal cooked to perfection using locally sourced produce. However, it was the owner / chef Manuel who made our stay most memorable and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him. He was a very warm host, passionate and enthusiastic about the Auberge he had created and full of interesting and amusing conversation about his life, work and plans. He was more than happy to work around the restrictions of my egg / poultry allergy and nothing was too much trouble for him to ensure our stay was perfect. Good luck Manuel with the continuation of the Auberge and all your future ventures. We very much hope to enjoy your company again sometime in the near future!
Lovely welcome from charming staff. The room was very modern in style ( I liked it but maybe not to everyone's taste) and extremely clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious, with a good selection of wines. We enjoyed our stay.
The quiet nights, the effort of the kitchen, the rooms, the advice from the proprietor. The surroundings offer history, ruins, spectacular gothic architecture (Laon, Soissons and Reims) and hiking trails.
I was fine for me, but visitors to this location should speak (at least) basic French; other languages are not understood there.
Lovely hotel with great room and fabulous food and a great host ! you cannot ask for more !
Nowhere to put soap etc in shower!
The modern decor
The room the food the drink and the very friendly staff. thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.
Great sized room with very clean and modern décor and a huge bathroom. Nice restaurant with good food.
Very quiet village, nowhere else to go. Restaurant was only open to residents on the night we stayed (Monday) so only us and 1 other couple eating. Very quiet. No choice of menu which for us was not a problem as we eat most things. However the curried chicken may not have suited everyone. Nowhere to site for a drink after dinner, so went to bed at 9.30 pm.
Wonderful imaginative decoration of room and bathroom; Brilliant helpful charming host. Lovely countryside
The location, we chose the hotel because it was the closest to a wedding we had to attend close to it. It is conveniently located to many "spots" to visit in rural Champagne, 30 minutes drive from Reims, 20 minutes from Laon. The service: the owners are very friendly, very customer oriented, more than the average you can normally expect to find in France. The rooms: are very comfortable, with generous space.
The quality of sleep: the hotel is located close to the town´s church, whose bells interrupt your sleep, specially at 6 am when they sound 6 times... The price: it seems rather expensive for the "package" you receive.
Quiet location; Owner/chef Manuel is a brilliant guy who has worked so hard to achieve high standards in the design and refurbishment of the property and also in the superb food he produces.
The food and the friendly welcome together with a very comfortable room.
Nothing to dislike.
The owner great friendly character and superb chef - it was our 2nd visit and the food was excellent yet again. Small choice of menu, worthy of the price and good wine list. Out of the way in small village but easy to find off the motorway. Unusual and original decor -- adds to the charm. Highly recommended -- will be returning.
Everything. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable, and we got a very peaceful nights sleep. Manuel cooked some wonderful food, and we were able to buy some of the excellent wine that we'd tried the evening before, to take with us on our journey to Italy.
Nicely decorated room. Very friendly and helpful owners. Quiet village location.
Set menu offered no choice, even though what we had was nice.
Food superb and ideal to visit many places north west of Reims that are usually lost and bypassed by usual tourists.
Excellent accommodation and very friendly host. Dinner was superb with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend as a stop off point when travelling in the area.
Nice room, plenty of space and a comfortable bed. The room had a nice large bath which was welcome, Would stay again.
We felt like we paid a lot for the room without breakfast, but perhaps more time spent in and around the area would have revealed a reason for any premium. The lack of ability to make our own cup of coffee was noticeable by it's absence - but that's being very picky.
Lovely clean modern auberge, very welcoming owners lovely meal in the restaurant.
The location on the main road was a little uninspiring, good for battlefield tours but village not especially pretty
The food was very good, The owner was very helpful and pleasant
A friendly welcome after along drive north and a wonderful meal in the evening, the quality of the food, presentation and service was exceptional. Our room (Zen) was very clean, comfortable and spacious as was the en-suite facilities. A very comfortable stay and we would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in this part of France.
We only stayed one night on our way home.
