Spacious room, great evening meal and superb Pyrenean location
Quiet & peaceful, lovely views. Very accommodating hosts. Beverage making facilities available on request. Breakfast lovely & fresh, with a cooked option on request. Thank you!
Auberge du Balestie went out if their way to accommodate all our needs, very friendly & comfortable stay. Location was central for all our needs ... Great weekend break!
Friendly owners, good quality food, peaceful location with wonderful views.
I arrived early and injured. The host was most gracious and helpful. The B&B is convenient to Mirepoix even though off road, quite comfortable and the food excellent.
Perfect setting, friendly, helpful hosts, delicious food, delightful country walks, but also handy to Mirepoix,
Quiet, rural location close to Mirepoix. Wonderful views - to Montsegur and the pyrennes. Housemartins. Good food. Comfortable room. Good position to drive the short distance to Carcassonne for our flight home. Thankyou - hope to return one day!
Nothing worth mentioning!
The help and local knowledge given by the proprietor. Views of the Pyrenees. Ample car parking facilities
Small room with limited facilities, no AC, no drink making equipment or a kettle, antiquated bathroom with small shower cubicle, very small TV without Satellite, paper thin ceiling that allows all overhead movements to be heard. distance from nearest town. Expensive and very limited breakfast that was not available until 08:00
Owners lovely and made it a very relaxed and enjoyable break... even with crazy kids! Food the best we had on our entire holiday!
The week surpassed our expectations on all counts . Firstly the food was outstanding every night, the beds were more comfortable than in many small auberges in France, the drains did not smell and above the all the proprietors were always at great pains to ensure that we were enjoying our stay . Quite an unusual little place .
Nothing really !
This was a wonderful and relaxing stay! The place is just fantastic, nothing to complain about. Beautiful landscape, charming host, comfy rooms with all you need, delicious food in the evening. We definitely wish to be back some day!
Relaxing. Friendly. Plenty to do and see
Everything was perfect. Wifi runs and it´s free. Room is large and looks like Hostel, but everything is clean and has its place, nicely. Quit and Pirimeus views. Local wonderfull home meals at dinner. We will repeat.
Parking is cover with gravel (little stones) and doesn´t look good for heavy motorcicles, you must be careful. It´s a little detail for this great albergue
My 3rd stay with that wonderful hosts Sylvia&David! As always I was sorry to leave this wonderful Auberge! Excellent french cuisine and a good choice of local wines!
The owners were so nice and welcoming. Really made sure we were comfortable and content.
It was farther from Mirepoix than expected.
genuine friendliness and helpfulness: when we asked for something as outdated as a CD player one was supplied.
Hospitality of the owner.
David and Sylvia were absolutely delightful and helpful. The setting is wonderful and we had a view of the snow capped mountains from our room. Being vegetarian, eating can be problematic; Sylvia made me two evening meals which were generous and tasted very good even though she said one was experimental! The music piped into the dinning room was also to my taste. We had a lovely 2 hour walk into Mirepouix through fields of horses, cows and sheep. It was an absolute joy to stay here and highly recommend it.
Nothing at all.
our hosts were wonderful and accomodating and welcoming. Beautiful scenery with Pyrenees in the backdrop, near the prehistoric caves and charming town of Mirapoix nearby. Nice restaurant and atmosphere.
The room was clean but lacking in character and warmth. A little art or poster on the walls would have gone a long ways to add a little decor. Beds were pretty basic but did the job. Overall good value and these are easy fixes. As my friend said, the room felt " soulless".
Hosts were friendly and informative
No complaints at all
The family who run this hotel are super and we felt very welcome, relaxed & looked after.
They could use a good gardener and maintenance man outside the buildings
David and Sylvia went out of their way to make our stay 10/10. We brought trouble with us (we were hiking pilgrims and a lovely dog followed us) and they took it in stride and found the owner. David upgraded our room for less cost.
The owners were more than cordial and the setting is absolutely wonderful. The restaurant is a great bargain and the food is first rate.
Mirepoix is quite commercialized which detracts from the beauty of the historic town.
Fantastic views of Pyrenees. David the owner was very friendly and welcoming. Room quite compact but comfortable. Very pleasant dinner and breakfast.
Clean, comfortable accommodation with hospitable hosts and good food.in a quiet location with good views of the Pyrenees
