Auberge Du Terroir

The accommodations were wonderful. The innkeeper-- I believe her name is Annie-- is simultaneously friendly, efficient, graceful, and elegant. Dinner was extraordinary and of phenomenal value. The service was superb; location was quiet but a short drive from larger towns and attractions. The beds were beyond comfortable.

The bathroom, though large, was somewhat dated. The shower did not close, and there was no place for the soap or shampoo in the shower.

The food was fantastic, environment very agreable.

As a francophone couple from the usa, it was a great pleasure to visit a French "auberge" as we have known it in the past, both in our student days in the uk and France in the period of 1950-1960, and also in the 1980's and 1990's when we often visited France and toured the country in a car, mingling with the French people in the countryside as well as tasting the best of French gastronomy. The Auberge du Terroir is offering these same traditional things in modern times. We would like to thank Thierry and Anne Lefort (correct name?) for their "accueil chaleureux", the comfortable room and the excellent cuisine that Thierry produced in spite of his busy schedule.

Beautifully maintained, quiet and superb food - pricey though

Attitude of staff indifferent...at best. Didn't feel welcome - wouldn't go again, no matter how good the food.

Very quiet village, lovely building and gardens (delightful in good weather), stylish comfortable rooms. Food excellent by repute. We stayed on a day that the restuarant was closed and took the hotel's recommendation to eat at Le Gue Du Holme (about 11/12 minutes drive). Great food and fantastic value for money.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable room. Beautiful grounds and lovely, well appointed common areas. Delicious 'petit dejeuner' in the morning.

There wasn't anything I didn't like about this place or our time there.

A delightful peaceful setting worthy of a mention in 'Charming Small Hotels' Madame Annie Lefort has a lovely sense of humour and is most welcoming. Our excellent dinner was very good value and the table service was well presented. We shall definitely visit again.

hotel was shut on arrival at around 2pm but we managed to find the owner who let us in. did not realise we had to arrive later in the afternoon.

What other people already wrote: calm and silent, nice design, friendly hosts. It was not far from Mont St.Michel. Lots of coffee and tea for breakfast :). Nice design of the restaurant. Nice garderns. Overall ok and worth to go and pay the price.

Some details: Uncomfortable, too hard pillows and too thin blanket (there were 2 more pillows in the wardrobe, but the same kind). It was a bit too cold for me and my wife (although there is an electrical heater and we could turn it on, but we did not got this idea as it was August). We had a small room 'Cappucine' or so ... for 68 EUR/night, so it was just ok, but for 2 people. In the toilet there is no sink to wash hands, so you need to walk through the room to the sink which is on other side of it next to the shower. I saw also the other rooms which are very nice. I saw also the bathtube without a curtain (what other people complain about), so the water must go directly on the carpet. This is not perfect, but the owners must know it and this is their worry, not the guests'. Bad thing: internet signal in our room was weak, sometimes disappearing. We really wanted to taste the food in the restaurant, but it is open only from 7.30 pm, and we had to leave.

the hotel is in the very quiet very small provincial city. absolute silence during night. but the number one advantage is excellent restaurant there. it is really wonderful. all dishes are really delicious, starters, hot plates and desserts as well as wine and calvados.

The restaurant is tastefully furnished with excellent food and service. Prices are exceptionally reasonable. The proprietors are friendly.

It was a charming countryside break in a beautiful house close to Mont Saint Michel. All we needed.

The timings of dinner (kitchen closes at 20:30) and breakfast starts at 8 only and it was nothing special.

The staff/owners are friendly and welcoming. The room was in a separate building from the main house and we could see Mont St Michel from the bathroom window! The room are very nicely decorated and very comfortable.

There was no shower curtain/screen in the bath so when we showered the water ran down the side of the bath onto the floor. The water had wapped the side of the bathroom cabinet which was right by the bath. A glass/plastic screen would have prevented this problem and also fitted in with the rest of the room as the bathroom was otherwise very pleasantly decorated with plenty of room and a separate toilet. A very minor point was I got an enomous pot of tea at breakfast with only one teabag in. The tea was really weak-a smaller teapot (as I was the only person drinking tea) would have made more sense.

Found everything wonderful

The location is perfect for visiting Mont St. Michel, and surroundings. The property is lovely with a beautiful garden. We had a great downstairs room with opening outside doors. The restaurant (the only one in this tiny village) is excellent and the owners are very friendly.

We found the breakfast overpriced, but because there is nothing in the village to go to, you had no choice.

What a gem. We picked this hotel because it was en route to our rented holiday cottage. It turned out to be the perfect start to a very relaxed week. The weather was just about perfect which obviously helped but had nothing to do with the fabulous food or the natural style of the hotel or the casual charm of the owners. We are now trying to think up an excuse to go back.

Most pleasant and relaxing - nothing was too much trouble. Excellent cuisine - score out of 10 - 11!

Великолепный ресторан при отеле, прекрасная кухня, просто изумительная. Странно, что у ресторана нет мишленовских звезд.
