Auberge Saint Jean

It was convenient for Brive, yet the location was peaceful. The manager was very helpful when we needed directions and the food in the restaurant was excellent and the self-service breakfast was very good.

We were generally disappointed by the lack of ambience and although the food in the restaurant was excellent, we did not feel very welcome. We were told that to get the 3 course deal we had to choose the dessert at the beginning. The bar never seemed to be open and the hotel just didn't seem comfortable or to have any charactere. Sometimes staff were friendly and helpful, at other times it seemed as though staff had been sucking on lemons.

The restaurant was stunning. The food was of a quality I would normally associate with a much more expensive and prestigious hotel.

Location - close to Autoroute. Easy to get to. Excellent food. Helpful owner.

Set in a very pretty village that was just off the motorway, so very convenient as we used the Auberge as an overnight stay. The restaurant served excellent food in fact it was one of the best meals we had throughout our holiday!

The only thing that would have improved it for us was that there was a nice balcony off of our room with lovely views but it would have beneffited from having some nice outdoor furniture to enjoy it as what was there was not very good.

Room was disapointing. Outside temperature in mid 30c but no fans or a/c made sleep almost impossible.

Von den Besitzern bzw. vom Personal hat man wenig gesehen, keine persönliche Betreuung.

Le diner, la table d'hôte, fut de loin la meilleure que nous ayons eu depuis très longtemps. Bravo pour le chef et son ris d'agneau accompagné d'un vin rouge le Pécharmant excellent

Très bon rapport qualité prix en ce qui concerne les prestations hôtelières. Nous y avons pris un excellent dîner avec des plats originaux parfaitement cuisinés.

Le rapport qualité - prix de cet établissement est vraiment exceptionnel. La chambre était d'une propreté irréprochable et le niveau de services qu'elle offrait était tout à fait satisfaisant. Le village d'Ussac est un havre de paix, à 5 minutes du centre de Brive. Je regrette seulement de ne pas avoir pu profiter du restaurant, dont la réputation est établie. Dommage que la pluie m'ait accompagné durant tout mon séjour... Je reviendrai volontiers.

Excellente cuisine régionale à prix serrés. Chambre agréable. Lieu très calme. Proximité autoroute. Décor agréable. Personnel souriant.

Petit déjeuner un peu trop simple (P.ex. Fromage Babybel. Pas de jambon.).

La mancanza di parcheggio, anche se nelle vicinanze si è trovato posto, non custodito però.

Salle de bain vétuste, matériel usé comme les robinets et le pommeau de la douche en mauvais état de fonctionnement

De ontvangst was prima. De ontvangsthal is klein, maar voldoet. Vooral de warme maaltijd 's avonds was prijs/kwaliteit een ware aanrader. Verse kabeljauw in midden frankrijk! Ook het kalfsvlees was heerlijk. En met het toetje was ook te schuiven.

Het parkeerterrein is voor minder mobiele mensen een bezwaar.

Het restaurant is van uitstekende kwaliteit

Sa situation géographique ,étant donné que nous nous rendions dans Les Landes, et que nous voulions faire la route en 2 fois .

La chambre un peu petite et probablement située sous une montée d'escaliers . Nous sommes arrivés à 21h15 et il règnait une chaleur étouffante dans la chambre , malgré la fenêtre ouverte . Venant de faire 415 kms , nous aurions appréciés une chambre plus fraiche . Pour un séjour plus long , cette chambre n'est pas recommandable. Pour précision , il s'agit de la chambre 230 GL , référence notée sur la facture .
