This was a good basic little hotel. We were only there for one night but everything was clean and tidy and the continental breakfast was good, but not included in the price. The beer could have been a bit colder.

We had one dinner at the hotel and it was quite good. The facade of the hotel was nice. The skiroom was good. Unfortunately we didn't feel wellcome at all. At the reception an older woman showed us a board with names and asked us to find our name (=room) there! As we didn't see our name - only one, which said "2 persons", we suggested that it might be ours. We went to the room and a couple of minutes later the old woman came shouting out loud and repeating in French that go away this is not your room - we felt like criminals when carrying our stuff back to the reception. She was still shouting at us! We had to stay the first night somewhere else, as they've given our room to somebody else that wanted to stay one extra night! All the week the older woman gave us a bad look - we couldn't even eat our breakfast there, as we felt like criminals! The younger lady was trying to be polite, but unfortunately the harm was done. We didn't bother anymore about the other things that needed "updating" (bathroom, bed and bed linen etc...) at the hotel, as we felt "lucky to have a room were to sleep". Wouldn't dare to step in to the hotel anymore. We've been travelling a lot, but never experienced something like this before.

Generally I thought the Hotel was very good and I got exactly what I expected. Although the food was very good I do feel they are missing the opportunity to have guest eat in the hotel every evening due to the fact that the menu is both extravagant and expensive. I think they would do much better if they also run a "good value" simple menu as an alternative choice.

Traditional alpine hotel. Room was decorated in a cosy traditional style & we had access to a terrace with mountain views. Very close to Chamonix, only a 5 minute drive away & close to Mont Blanc tunnel. Looked like it had a lovely restaurant offering regional dishes, but we only wanted a pizza, so we found a really nice bijoux pizzeria in the village, about a 10 minute walk away. Breakfast quite expensive, but basic compared to the other hotels we stayed in during our tour of France & Italy, and if you wanted fruit salad you had to pay extra, which was disappointing.

Location outside of Chamonix - less busy. No air conditioning - very hot in summer. Street noise made it very difficult to sleep. Very pricey breakfast menu with no kid discount.
