location, room cleaning The hotel is maintained in a terrible state. Lounges on the floors are dirty and littered with old furniture and dirty laundry. In general, all the furniture has long thrown out. Despite the fact that we stayed at the hotel for 8 nights, they gave us a very bad and cold room, as later admitted to the administrator. The room was a small dog kennel, with a bathroom, which is a 1 meter by 1 meter. Room did not contain even a wardrobe. But the worst thing in the room is that the radiator is old and not warm enough. In the absence of air conditioning in the room it replaces the holes in the walls, which were left with 19 th century. Of the holes in the wall of cold air from outside blowing strongly into the room. Only after we were told that we turn to the tourist inspection, they changed the room.

It is located near the metro station Anvers (10 seconds of walking). The view is fantastic, with Sacre Coeur in all the splendor. We had a room that seemed big after all I've heard about the rooms in french hotels. We didn't try the breakfast, there are plenty of boulangeries and brasseries near the hotel. No one from the staff bothered us, they are opened 24 hours so you can come whenever you want from downtown. Carrefour and Monoprix near the hotel . The furniture, the bathroom, the doors can hardly recommend this hotel as a two stars hotel. We had to pay a 10 euro guarantee (refundable) for the remote control (only french tv channels). Very small elevator. We stayed here only for the sleep so our interest was to have a good location.

Room 40 has a beautiful view of the Sacre Coeur. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the Anvers metro. The area is very safe as there was people in the street till 1 a.m. most nights. It is a 10 minute walk to the church. There is an internet cafe 2 door down that is open late, also an ATM. The streets east and west have public automatic toilets available and there are many lost cost street food vendors and small grocery stores. Very little street noise when the double glazed window was closed. It was my second stay. Bathrooms are a bit tight and it's was easy to hear coughing from any room on my floor.

The Good: It is close to metro. It is cheap for Paris. The people are ok, trying to do their best. The hotel is patched to stay on its feet. We had holes in the bathroom covered with tape. We had mold all over walls. The room looked like it was painted by o group of volunteers trying to do something good but not very skilled. Conclusion: The management should resign. A good manager could do so much better for this place in a short period of time with little budget.

Handy being so close to the metro station. We also had a beautiful view of Sacre Coeur from our room (worth emailing ahead to ask for this). Good to have free wifi, also. Rooms and facilities were very basic. Also the cleaner knocked on our door the morning we were there and told us that we had to leave the room because she wanted to clean it right then. We asked her if we could please have five more minutes in our room and she was visibly irritated (slapped her hand to her forehead etc). She then knocked on our door another two times in that five minutes to tell us we had to leave. We told the woman at reception, who called the cleaner to see what happened and after speaking to the cleaner the woman at reception told us that the cleaner simply asked us whether we wanted her to clean our room now or later. This was untrue and it would be great if that particular cleaning lady was a bit more flexible and a lot less rude.

Location was good being just 5 minutes walk from Sacre Coeur and Place de Tertre. Twin-bedded room was very small with minute en-suite - like a grotty student room. Bed linen was old; my sheet had a small hole in it and the blanket was horrible. Safe wouldn't open so had to carry everything around with me. The carpet outside was patched and dirty.

Location Very basic (rather 0 to 1 stars). All worn down, needs refurbishment. Clean and everything worked though. We had a room facing the loud street so we needed to close the windows at night (might get hot in summer). Overall there might be better options.

The best of all was the view of Sacré Coeur from the room window. Breathtaking. The reception staff was always very helpful. The carpet. The bathroom. It was impossible to take a shower as the water kept going from freezing cold to scorching hot in 5 seconds, and back again... impossible to get a steady temperature. It's a 2 star hotel, an old building, oh well, but it's Paris and it's as cheap a room as you will get. Think of it as patine, and enjoy Montmartre :)

Best thing i liked about my hotel was the view my room had. It was also right beside the metro and a tourist office which was helpful. Out of 5 members of staff i came across only one of them was friendly. Which was the older gentlemen working the evening shift. The man during the day was a bit of a creep and made my girlfriend uncomfortable. The lady during the the morning was extremely unfriendly and the younger man during night couldnt speak any english. not that i can speak french that well either but when i needed clean towels it was extremely awkward trying to explain. One day the cleaner had left no towels in our rooom and she had taken my anti persperant. I dont think she stole it. Probably threw it out but the point is she shouldnt have touched it. Towels were also stained. Im sure they were clean but the stains just doesnt look professional or nice. I also would have liked to have tea and coffee facilities. Not a big deal but its nice to be able to wake up and make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. Also i was charged an extra 4 euro per night which totalled 28 euro to stay in the room that i requested. I dont believe that this was right at all but i still paid it because this room was suppose to have a good view.

great view of sacre cour(as all other reviwers have said), i was on 6 floor room 40, single room with bathroo/shower/toilet, nice little balcony, comfy double bed, tables chair, storage shelves and hangers, tv, mirrors. breakfast served to room was very nice for 6 euros, served between 7-9(let themknow what time youd prefer). seriously great location. hot drinks and snacks can be bought at a reasonable price at reception. they will also keep your luggage save for you if you arrive before check in times ect.. literally no room to turn in bathroom which wasnt to much of a problrm for mr being 5'7 average build but for the taller/bigger person could be a pain, could also do with a fresh coat of paint, other than that all good would highly recomend for budget/solo travellers/couples.

Location was the only redeeming quality. It's right across the street from the Anvers metro station. The receptionist was slow, inefficient and rude. After I paid for our stay, he was printing out the receipt when another guest asked for his room key. The receptionist attended to this other guest first, which was reasonable as it didn't take very long. But then he has forgotten what he was doing before. When he finally remembered, another guest walked in to ask for his key, which took his attention away again and it was a while before he could resume the printing. After he handed me the receipt, he looked at me as if everything was done, so I reminded him to give me my change, at which point he seemed indignant that I'd think he'd forgotten about it. He took a long time to calculate the change (use a calculator if you can't do simple math in your head!), got it wrong the first time, and then the check-in was finally completed after a very long time. Next thing we knew, the elevator was broken. Since our room was on the 4th floor, I politely asked if there's any other way to go up. He asked if we had a lot of luggage, I said only one piece but it's very heavy, and he replied: "Then it's all right! It's just 3-4 floors!" It was close to midnight, my friend and I are both girls, and this buff man did not even offer to help us with our luggage or at least say something nice. Now the room. The carpet had stains all over it, the bed cover had stains all over it. The shower didn't have a caddy or shelf to hold shampoo. The toilet was squeezed into a tiny space. There's no hot water at the sink (the shower had hot water though). There's no electrical outlet near the desk. In short, it was a very bad experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We all love our room as we were given what we requested, the best view of Sacre Coeur Church, 6th floor. Close to one of the Metro station, Anvers (sp.?) Very easy to find the hotel. Around the hotel, you can get cheap foods. Because it was winter time, it was very cold at night. Heater didn't really work well and we went down to the reception desk to ask "how to turn on the heater", we were sure we already turned on the heater. The guy, very helpful but didn't really solve our problem, offered to give us extra blankets but we turned down.

Not a bad size room for a paris hotel, plenty of hotwater, nice view from balcony stayed in room 29 although I did request room 39 when I made my booking as the view is better, would stay at this hotel again if staying in that area, walked back to gare de nord to get train to airport10 minute walk which is easy straight road from hotel then turn right by metro station easier than getting metro from hotel and having to carry luggage up and down stairs in the metro station.just mention walls are a bit thin at the hotel and you can hear next door taking a shower etc, street is very noisy as its a busy street but if you shut the windows it blocks it all out.

This is such a great little hotel - the rooms are quite average in mod cons but still typically French and nicely old fashioned. You can also get a room with a balcony upon request for (as yet) no extra cost with a stunning view of Sacre Coeur. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is great for Moulin Rouge, Montmartre, Sacre Coeur, Gare Du Nord (Eurostar). I think it is the best place to base yourself in Paris, you can be stood by Sacre Coeur overlooking the Paris skyline within 15 minutes walk and yet still hop on a metro to St Michel & Notre Dame within 10 minutes too. Add in the fact it is a 5 minute walk from the Eurostar and this hotel can have bedroom views of Sacre Coeur and the high value prices and you will find it hard to beat! This was our third time at this hotel and will be back again and only to this hotel - outstanding :o) Nothing not to like from my perspective

Glad it had an elevator as we were on the 5th floor. From our window we were able to see the light display on the Eiffel Tower. If I walked out on the balcony I was able to see Sacre Coeur - great bonus for the price. The shower stall was very small but functional.

Staying on the top floor gives you a very good view. And the room itself is very good, has basically everything you need for one night stay. The location is also good as it is 2 min walk to the Metro station.

I loved waking up to the view of the Sacre Coeur during sunrise, priceless! I had a room with a balcony on the 6th floor. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was different, basic yet good. The staff was nice. The man working the night shift on a Saturday was the most helpful and friendly of them. All in all, a fantastic location, and lovely views. Have already recommended it to my friends! It would have been nice to see the lady, who was most often at the reception, smile (more). But she was helpful and kind nonetheless.

The Hotel's Location is ideal. A few meters from a metro station and close but not too close (due to the bad fame of the region) to Gare du Nord, Paris' main railways interconnection center. Hotel's staff was definetely professional. The room was too small and the balcony did not have any chair/table.
