Avignon Grand Hotel  

Fabulous location, good parking.

Faded elegance but very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. No restaurant in hotel, but this could just be a seasonal thing. Hotel overlooks one of the main gates into the walled city so very convenient. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The space and the 2 big beds

It was too warm, and we could not put the airconditioner on. Only the heat.

Good location. Just a 15 to 20 minute walk to the main tourist attractions and stone's throw from the train station. We travelled by Eurostar and the tgv station was about a 10 to 15 minute bus ride away. The terminal to board these buses is just a 3 minute walk from the hotel, in front of the post office. We were upgraded to a garden view room upon check in and the room itself was fine in terms of cleanliness, comfort. We gave the buffet breakfast a try one morning (extra charge) and it was sufficient. Lots of pastries, cheeses, cold meats, cereals but a bit limited with hot food.

One major drawback is that the Hotel doesn't have a dining room/restaurant. Neither do the rooms have any tea/coffee making facilities. I wasn't feeling too well on the second day of my stay and would have found it helpful had there been an in-house dining facility. There is a room service menu but food is only served between 7.30pm to 9.30pm and the choice somewhat limited. Overall satisfactory and would recommend the hotel more for it's location and a clean and pleasant place to stay at rather than it's (lack of) services/facilities.

Location within walking distance of town centre and the tourist sites

Car parking at 17 Euros/night. The hotel was described as 4-star. This is maybe a 2-star or 3-star hotel. Rooms were nothing special. Bottles of water from minibar were 4 Euros. Restsaurant was poor. Bar was worse.

Very conveniently located

Public areas were good. But rooms could do with further renovation. Parking on site but poorly maintained and incredibly expensive parking even for a city center

Location - just outside the Avignon Wall so driving and parking is way less stressful than what it would be if a we chose a hotel inside the wall yet it was close and easy to walk to the shops inside the wall.

Breakfast was average and pricey.

Near Town centre

No restaurtant facilities at lunch and dinner! Measly bar open for short times whem various conferences were held

The reception staff were particularly unhelpful about the parking arrangements...You have to use the public car park below which is fine but unmanned and the pay machines broken..The hotel can sell you overnight tickets but didn't recommend this even when asked.

Its cleanliness and all the nice restaurant in the neighborhood.

The room was way too small and the service was minimum. Also there is no elevator in the building and the stairs are very steep. I was scared of falling off carrying my small suitcase. The worst was the note they gave us on our arrival. It indicated all sorts of rules and fines in case of violation. For example you have to empty the bin otherwise there will be cleaning fees; there is only one set of towels and toilette amenities per guest (for an entire week), and if you need more you need to pay extra, etc. The owners tried to act warm but it felt pretty fake... Or maybe they were pushing to hard... I did not feel comfortable staying there at all.

The hotel is located very close to the center of the city. They do not have a restaurant but all the restaurants are nearby.

Overall I had a pleasant stay in Avignon
