I got misled by the high rating of this place and seemingly friendly price.
Marie, the host, tries and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and at home. But, let's be honest the place is of a very poor quality by all standards, just like a 1 or 2 stars place, maybe slightly higher by French accommodation standards. The other visitors were over generous about rating this place so high or simply they wanted to please Marie for her good service.
The entrance in the place is a a really small hallway with a staircase full of cracks looking like it could collapse any moment, wearing the marks of the luggage hits on its narrow width.
The place looks like nothing was done to it from 1970s in line (except the white paint) with the decor and pictures depicting some 60'-70' actors on the wall. For those looking to feel like being back to grandma's house it is a nice leap in the past, but for contemporary fees.
The mattress is uncomfortable, being composed by 2 pieces, one higher than the other.
The toilet is very small, the shower tub is 0.6 m x 0.6 m, no overweight people are recommended to go in there.
The place is like a hostel room for budget students, and is overpriced for what it offers.
As the place is behind a deli shop kitchen, at 7 am on Saturday morning, the kitchen staff were unloading the groceries and other food stuff for the day, making a terrible noise. At around 9,30 am a nice but unbearable smell of deep fried staff tickled my nose. When I went on the window to check the "appealing" smell coming in, I had the pleasure to also feel the smell from the trash bins deposited in front of my window from the kitchen.
And if this was not enough the whole place is simply a construction site under renovation with all related issues. A bad place to spend your weekend or holiday. From the other room there were of lot of noises done by the working people I assume.
