The room was dirty, mould in the bathroom. lamp shades and toilet flush hanging off and the toilet made a noise the whole night. the staff were uninterested and shrugged a "i dont understand you" and turned away.

Hotel is about 1.6 miles from centre of Arras. Surroundings cannot be described as picturesque. Rooms are clean. We found the staff to be very unhelpful. Having had a problem with a taxi I asked receptionist for help which she gave, but we endup up paying 30 euros! for a taxi journey of 1.6 miles. It later transpired that the 'taxi' was not a taxi at all. Felt like a bit of a scam. Morning receptionist much more helpful when fuss was made and the 'taxi' drive came back. A request for a VAT receipt brought forth a ver swift refund. No bar or lounge space and breakfast was only okay. Hotel does the job for the price, but don't expect any luxuries or service.

I'm am still trying to understand why hotels give out the smallest of towels! I would assume that for a couple, two big towels and two small towels. In the room: a bathmat, one large towel and one small towel.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was mostly clean. It all seemed very tired, my room smelt musty, and it didn't seem to match up to the internet pictures. Plus, for a hotel on the outskirts of town, it was very disappointing that the bar closed at 9pm.

It was good to have a room where my son and daughter-in-law could sleep with their three children in their own beds. Most hotels seems to cater for families of three!! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bed comfortable, although the furnishings and bathroom suites are somewhat dated. Breakfast varied and tasty and the coffee was good. The hotel seemed a little "tired" and in need of a face-lift. However, for an over-night stay en route for Paris, it was fine.

It was a dump, it was dirty and dated. We had showers and where only given one towel and there was no hot water for the duration of the stay. When we arrived the hotel was all locked up with a poorly written note on the door telling up to use the self check in machine. It was super cheap, that was prob the only benefit

Despite being very late (midnight), we were able to pick up our room key at the night entrance (via a yellow box and using the booking credit card as reception closes at 10pm) and were then able to go straight up and put tired kids to bed. If we had expected dinner or ambience, we would have been disappointed, but we only wanted a cheap stopping point and the double and 3 singles in one room were more than adequate for our needs. Hotel was easily found by Sat Nav, which was a huge relief as it was -10c when we arrived.

Charming and genuinely welcoming staff, the welcome to a guest arriving with pets after 10 hours drive was a treat. Very helpful and the free breakfast through booking.com a real bonus - and more than the usual coffee and a roll from roadhouse chains - we will certainly return. the shower cublicle showed signs of wear and tear

Room was basic and not prepared well. No seat on toilet in the first room I was given then light not working, no waste bin and water very slow to go in basin in the next. Staff did try to sort out but should not have been in this position.

Dissappointing. Toilet seat broken. Heater not working. Room cold and in need of decorating and cheering up. Very poor value for money. We went on to stay in Hotel de France in Perpignon in very high standard room for nearly same cost!!! Definately not to be recommended and if it wasn't for the fact we had already paid, we would have had to renegotiate a fair price.

On site free parking, location to the magical Christmas market in Arras, but, above all, the peace and quiet of the hotel. Better choice of menus, but food was good. Shower needed upgrading!

“Even though the hotel is a bit run down, we have sinced decided to stay at the Campanile hotels twice after our stay in Arras, on our drivr through northern France. They're priced ok, both cheaper and more expensive places can be found, but this hotel chain has managed to have us return.” Jan, Copenhagen S |
