Good location, Metro Line 1 (Louvre, Notre dame, Marais - nice area) and Line 6 (Eiffel Tour, Montmatre) is only steps away (approx. 100 m). Rooms are not big, but all in all everything works and service is reliable. A good base for a Paris tour!

Wifi Internet is free and works, but it is somewhat slow.

The place is very quiet although it is located in the city. The breakfast is great value for money. The staff are polite, friendly, professional and elegant.

The wall is thin with no sound proof. I guess it is fine for a single person travelling on business.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Amazing location near a metro station and Arc de Triomphe. The hotel was very clean and orderly but had a great character, like an prestigious vintage hotel. Would stay there again!

Great staff! I came in for the Paris marathon and they were prepared well for the event and offered late check-out with me even having to ask. The room was small but nice. Overall, an excellent experience.

I thought for the price I paid - quite a bill for 2 days in a family room - it was a little unreasonable to charge extra for breakfast. Esp considering what was available, charging 12 Euro for an adult breakfast above the already steep bill was a little crazy. Breakfast at any of the numerous cafes in the immediate area was only marginally cheaper. Not a big deal, just thought a croissant and a cup of coffe could've been part of the exorbitant bill. Also, although free, the wifi was spotty and didn't work well enough to send a quick email w/out trying multiple times.

This was a great hotel and a great value. The room was quaint. The hotel was furnished nicely and the location was only 2 blocks from the acr de triomphe. Easy access to the metro. Good restaurants.

Floors were squeaky

A golden palm to the exquisitely gentle and courteous staff. About the nicest reception staff we ever experienced. The cosy, quite, tasteful, comfortable rooms. The old elegance feel. The library and choice of free magazines and international press. On top of the internet deal we were upgraded to an even better room (without being told, which makes it even nicer). This hotel definitely deserves an extra star.

Friendly and efficient staff. Very close to direct bus service from Arc de Triomphe to CDG. Walking distance of Palais de Congress. Although small the room was quiet and comfortable for a short stay

Staff: The staff were very kind and accomodating upon our arrival. We took the red-eye from jfk and arrived to the hotel at 8:00 am. They allowed us to check-in to our room at that hour. Room: The room was very nicely decorated (Room#47) with a view over an interior courtyard. The room was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a very good size with a ful size tub and a towel warmer (wonderful!). The tile floors were warm too which we very much appreciated. Location: Excellent! Near the metro and Champs Elysees. Also close to a wide variety of eateries. Very safe area. Overall experience: I would stay here again and recommend it. In fact, I had a French friend come into Paris for one night and she took a room on another floor so I got to see a second room which was just as nice.

1. The internet connection was very slow and the workstation available to guests in the lobby needs to be upgraded. It doesn't support graphics such as the ones on a boarding pass which we needed to print out before our departure. In addition, the printer dedicated to that terminal didn't work. The front desk staff member offered to print it at her workstation, if I emailed it to her. However because the guest terminal did not support the graphics required it couldn't email it either. 2. Just a "heads up". The lift and the W.C. (toilet area of the room) are incredibly small. The lift: if you are a big person or travelling with a lot of luggage just be aware and prepared. The W.C.: If you are sharing the room with a friend (or have very long legs) and you don't feel comfortable leaving the door of the toilet open, this may pose a challenge. Our knees literally touched the door when we used the facilities. I did not find this to be a problem but other travellers may find this uncomfortable. Having mentioned both these items, I would still stay here again. The place is great, exudes a lot of charm and the staff are very kind.

Very good location, good service,clean and comfortable room

I've stayed here many times before and while it's quirky, I really like it. The location is great, the staff are excellent and the rooms are typically renovated and quite comfortable.

It can be a bit pricey at certain times of the year, and the wireless internet access is pitifully slow.

Great value, beautifully renovated room. Short walking distance to so many things, yet it still feels like Paris and scores of restaurants.

It was all great, just mention that the breakfast, although super, is extra.

We loved balmoral, the rooms are small, but that's Paris! We had a family room suite which was great value. Christian our concierge was so helpful. A 2 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe, shops and markets. Its an easy metro ride to access the rer to Charles de Gaulle Airport. This is a real find.
