Balzac Hotel is situated right in the medieval heart of Fogeres, within easy walk of the castle and city walls. The owner is lovely, very welcoming and helpful, and breakfast was good value! On the whole, good value for money. The ensuite bathroom was spacious but not particularly clean. |

It was very well situated in the center of town--we could walk to the city gardens and the castle. The key to the room did not work properly and it took a lot of time to lock the door. Although the receptionist said she would fix this for us, by the time we left the following day, the lock still did not work properly. Very small and not that clean. |

Centrally located in the city and within walking distance of the castle. The hotel decor was a bit dated & drab and it need of an upgrade. |

Great location in the heart of the old town (make sure you like the sound of bells!). Free parking just a short walk away after dropping off bags at front door. Very nice staff - good restaurant recommendation. Nice breakfast. For the price, an unbeatable place to stay. |

The rooms were comfortable and the hotel is right in the middle of the town. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and you can walk to the castle. I would have liked the chance to book twin bedded rooms. Saturday morning is very noisy early on because of the market outside. |

At our arrival I liked the exterior and the position of the hotel .. It was on the main street of the city..It was good to find an internet point that you can use. It is not very frecuent in that area to find internet cafes .but... In the ourside it looked nice, but as soon as you get in you can immediately notice it is urgently asking for some renewal.. Small old room, bathroom not very clean, the waste paper basket was not emptied from the previous guests!!. It really gave the impression of somehow dirty.. Eventhough the possition is good, the city is so very small, that in ten minutes you can visit the entire main street. Therefore, to visit the castle, that is worth while being fabulous, I would rather stay in another city close by . During our two week trip in Britany I may say it was the only hotel that seemed not clean enough to a stay. |

The Hotel is siuated in the heart of the town which gives easy access to all the tourist attractions and restaurants. As our room was at the front of the hotel it was a bit noisey. |

Perfect location at the center of the town. Easy parking arround. The hotel is located in a XIII century building, therefore we had some trouble with the toilet. Surprisingly, the hotel has a lift. |

The hostess was warm, friendly and informative. The hotel was conveniently located in the center of town and near the beautiful public gardens and castle ruins. There is a bell tower just behind the hotel that rings every 15 minutes--all night long. We visited in July when the windows need to remain open because of the heat. We closed the windows, suffered the heat, and still the bell was too loud. It was the worst night sleep I had on our trip. |

Traditional, old style French hotel - my room was old fashioned but clean and comfortable. Hotel had not received my booking but was able to find me a room on the fourth floor. Note that the lift only goes to the third... |

Our restored 19th century hotel stands right in the heart of the ancient citadel of Duché de Bretagne. |
The hotel Normandie located at Saint James, charming small town between Avranches and Fougères, at only 20 minutes of the Mont Saint Michel, accommodates you in a simple and cordial area. |
