M. et Mme so helpful and friendly, whatever time of day.

Brilliant location right in the heart of Fougères with the local market right outside on Saturday morning selling all manner of local produce. Room was a reasonable size, very clean and with all the facilities you need. Staff we dealt with were very polite and friendly despite the language barrier and the price represented very good value. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent value for money on one of the town's oldest shopping streets. Lovely fresh continental breakfast served with a smile.

Warm welcome from helpful owners who were happy to give information and to talk to us. Although parking at the hotel is limited to drop-off/pick- up, there was a free underground car-park about 5 minutes walk. The location was excellent to walk through the medieval part and the higher part of the town. Good value for the money.

it was on a lovely street in the heart of Fougeres which is a delightful and interesting town. The hotel was very friendly and as it was the weekend we were able to park outside and enjoy walking round to see the lovely gardens and superb fortified castle

Family run and very friendly, most helpful nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Very comfortable. We would definitely go there again if we were travelling in that region

Fantastic friendly owner - they really couldn't do enough to assist, and accommodated all our odd arrival and departure times with humour and efficiency. My boy was treated very well - with the owners finding little toys for him to play with during his stay. Service in the most pleasant and family oriented way. Thankyou.

Very central location, parking in the street, lovely town. Suited us as a one night stop en route to the north Brittany coast. We were glad to be aware of the bell before we arrived!

Smallish room on third floor but probably reflected the price. Breakfast was extra.

Lovely location & very quaint. Beautiful town. The manager was very friendly & spoke English well.

The lights in halls were on very short timer switches, so a bit tricky with young children.

Right in the cobbled main street of what we thought was an attractive, friendly and under-rated town (so there, Rough Guide!), we liked this old hotel for its character and the shopping/eating convenience (especially with the Saturday market right outside the door - nb beware the Friday night parking restrictions; hotel staff can tell you where to park legally for free). We had a good quiet family room at the back, and the breakfast was fair value for once. The lady who runs the place is kindly, attentive and full of useful information. Great to have window shutters and an old-fashioned French bathroom with a proper bath for once, and even a bidet!

Our bathroom, wasn't brilliantly clean, but it was ok. If your main interest is the castle, and you're not as fit as you'd like to be, you'll want a hotel down at its level, because the main town centre (including this hotel) is way up high above it. (Maps don't show this well - it's a very 3d town!!) It's a lovely walk down through the public gardens to the castle area, but the climb back up (I would take the gentler street route) may be daunting.
