The staff, from the receptionists to the chamber maids, gave some of the most pleasant and friendly service I have ever received - despite my appalling French. The hotel is quite stylish and the rooms were perfectly fresh and clean and had recently been redecorated. The location was good too - about 10 minutes' walk to the heart of the Marais, five minutes to Place des Vosges. Notre Dame was about 30 minutes away. Everything else we wanted to see (the Louvre, etc) seemed to be a €15 taxi away (as of Nov 2011), which made sense for three people. With any luck, I'll be back.

Being a traditional Irish mother and tea addict, my mother-in-law would have liked a kettle in her room. I found the heating a bit difficult to control.

Great staff, good location, very clean and comfortable rooms, homey lobby complete with coffee and books/magazines. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast offered by the hotel.

It is simple, clean and conveniently located. The staff is friendly and helpful. Altogether, an exceptional hotel for the price.

I have to mentionn again that we, my parents and me had a wonderful time in your hotel!!! We loved everything about it and above all the friendly staf! I will defenately recomend your hotell! All the best

The staff was very helpful and very friendly.The resource library and city info was a tremendous help when planning my vsist to Paris. Location was convenient to the Metro and several restaurants were nearby. I felt very safe in the neighborhood after dark. The bed was comfortable and the room size, although very small was more than adequate for a solo traveler.

Limited storage space for clothing so had to leave most of my things in the suitcase for the entire week. The chambermaid ignored the "Do not Disturb" sign on days when I did not want her to enter. (There were adequate towels/toiletries and I prefer limited access to my room when I am out for the day) Breakfast was overpriced for the assortment and quality.

Helpful staff, decent location, clean and tidy room

It was a nice, clean hotel in a good location - the Marais. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Bastille De Launay was lovely. The staff was polite and helpful, the room, even though it was a little small, suited my mother and me perfectly. There was a bathtub, everything was spotless, the room temperature was good, free wi-fi throughout the hotel, and it is really close to the Metro (3 different lines nearby). There are also restaurants, supermarkets, and a wonderful Boulangerie at walking distance. I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in Paris.

The breakfast is expensive.

Room was a little small.

From the very moment of entry the atmosphere was welcoming. The best reception staff in years, a lounge that really functioned with the possibility of coffee or drinks, a very decent breakfast, comfortable rooms - the best hotel of its category in Paris in that area. An amazing find - have already booked my next trip. Exceptional.

Despite that in hotel's site the breakfast is included in the prrice, your company, "booking.com" have added the breakfast as extra "after I confirmed my reservation"!!! I am a Freelance Journalist, and this is the first time it happens to me. Never mind, the manager, Olivier, accepted the responsability and didn't charged me. But don't do that again, you have to write clearly in your site that the price includes or didn't include breakfast.
