Great location, close to old town, good restaurants and busses. Helpful staff and very guiet room. Great value for the money, would definitely recommend it!!
The location is perfect for enjoying the city center and the old city. The hotel has a beautiful atmosphere with rooms with a character. The hotel feels more like a big French house, than a hotel. Our room was small but had red colors, velvet curtains and a fireplace.
No elevator, the reception is on the 1rst floor. The breakfast was pretty basic and over-charged (16 € and we had limited choice and had to cut the oranges and prepare the orange juice by ourselves).
Location, friendly staff.
- No elevator! - No lobby - Not even a glass in the room to drink some water. Had to drink from the sink directly using my hand! A bottle of water costs 2 euros. You should offer it for a free as a compliment to guests arriving, along with a clean glass for drinking. This is called hospitality!
location was perfect for what we wanted beautiful place would have no problems staying there again
there were not enough places nearby to just have a light snack.
We thought the position was excellent. I believe that we had onie of the largest rooms which made our stay more comfortable.
The breakfast was not up kthe the standard that we had experienced in other hotels.
Location, polite staff, cite from the room. The old world charm of ten hotel Fis well with the harm of the city
- Very clean room - Excellent location
- I booked a double room and I got a twin-bed room - The room, even if it was OK, was far of being charming, as indicated in booking.com. It was a standard decoration and the window faced a corridor - I looked a hotel with parking in the hotel. I was told only after my booking that it was full, once I could not cancel. Same with the twin bed thing
Position position position Choice of decor and consummate style
Claiming patio room when in fact getting access to fresh air made sleeping difficult
I like The place so much. You can walk to Lyon's main attractions and shops from there.
The room is very small and if you have luggage you have to take some stairs to reach your room. There is no elevator.
Location was great
Smokers and the smell coming in your room. Also when people are talking you can hear everything.
Location Helpful staff Individually styled rooms
Breakfast room was rather dull and had to ask for the water for the tea to be boiling!
the location is excellent, on the famous Place Bellecour
The room is relatively small and the bed is not comfortable, we felt very tired after the first night
Staff were helpful, recommending local restaurants that would serve traditional lyonnaise food (bouchons) where our lack of French wouldn't be an issue!!
Location is excellent!
There is no elevator, no Air conditioner in room. The hostess has a bit of an attitude!
Location variety of rooms
Price of parking and breakfast We knew we had to pay for our friends who had to go home earlier, as we cancelled too late that morning. But why not offering us one better - nicer room instead of chariging us for having two rooms when we only needed one or offering a free breakfast.
too expensive breakfast ( 14 € )
Very good location, very clean room, good staff
No air con
Central location, within minutes of a Car Park, close to restaurants. Good sized rooms, fabulous retro decor, well-equipped bathrooms, excellent breakfast and welcoming staff.
Easy walking distance of the old town and the opera house, metro station directly in front of the hotel. Our room (16) had recently been renovated had a separate toilet and modern bathroom, indirect room lighting and attactrive furnishings BUT you have to carry your bags through the breakfast room and kitchen to get there and the windon only opens on to a corridor used by other guests.
The location of the room at the back of the hotel with a window which only opens on to the corridor and thus the room is difficult to air. To access the room via the kitchen and 4 narrow stone steps (up and down) between the kitchen and the door ro the corridor makes it very difficult to get in and out with ones bags. There is a public underground garage opposite the hotel but it cost € 30 per day and there is no "Hotel discount" to encourage tourists.
The car parking was dreadful. Very crushed together and 10minutes walk away. Cheaper public secure parking much closer. They charged 56euros for 2 nights
The location was excellent. Very close to old Lyon. Neighborhood felt very safe.
It was clean
The room has no window to outside... The window view is the corridor which makes you feel imprisoned. The promised wifi does not work...
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location is central.
Secure parking is actually at another hotel. Access is down a pedestrian street, something so off-putting it makes you wonder are you reading the instructions correctly. When you get to the hotel in question you look for the garage but can only see this hallway access. A visit to reception tells you that, yes, the hallway is actually the garage access. Still doubting your car will fit in, you successfully gain access. The car-park is secure and the overnight charge is a whopping €28. Back at Bayard Bellecour, breakfast at €14 per head is about as poor a value breakfast as it is possible to achieve.
The quietness of the rooms, the quality of the beds, the spacious bathrooms with separate toilets. All in all excellent.
The breakfast kitchen door open to everybody eating, customers don't wish to see the staff, in there. Keep the door shut, the tables had not been cleared either and the television in the breakfast room is'nt necessary either. The breakfast room resembles a caféteria !
Fantastic location Helpful and friendly staff Lovely room, good sized shower and really comfy bed
Lack of air-conditioning, but there was a fan in the room and the windows opened
