The hotel was in an excellent location for viewing local attractions and also very handy for the local metro station Anvers, for getting around to other parts of the city. Also convenient for a good choice of cafes and restaurants and shops.
Didn.t find the staff especially friendly, also the toilet/shower area of my room was not as clean as I would have expected, room could do with redecorating looked very tired.
Clean, quiet, respectful staff
Paid for breakfast which needed a little more to it
Nothing. Had it booked for 3 nights but only stayed one as we felt obligated to do the one night. Arranged for another hotel to stay in and it was great.
The location was very scary as lots of scary people in the area. The many stairs to carry suitcases up and down. Just too old. Sure needs some up dating.
Everything was great and the location was absolutely perfect!!!
The only negative I can think of is that the staff doesn't speak English and communication was difficult.
The hotel is a designated Paris historical landmark, hence an inability by the owners to conduct any renovation work that would bring this charming place (IMHO)to the level of comfort we are used to in our modern times. The lack of an elevator made a significant contribution to our physical condition ; we were on the top floor, I. E., four flights of stairs every time. Choose your luggage wisely, but definitely make sure to come and enjoy this great location by booking your room well in advance. We did it online, and barely got the last one; many came without a booking only to be turned away. We will be back!!!!
The shower stall upper door rail was broken ; we still managed fine. We truly did not mind the "minimalist style" of comfort. We got a prime (Montmartre) location, and the charm of the setting and the extremely helpful staff did the rest. English was spoken well enough to get everyone on the same page.
Location very good and quiet, into the lovely Montmartre with Sakreker that will amaze you, Dia supermarket ay 50 m, many cafes and restaurants near, metro Anvers very close. Staff extremely polite - sweet Valerie with her little English help us allways in that we wanted. The room was cleaned and towels changed every day. Very useful the small fridge in the room, for a such an expensive city. Old building but clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. When I come back I will stay here again.
Wi-fi is not free. No lift.
dirty,no cleaning,all furniture old
Its a great area and a really charming hotel, I loved it and would stay there again.
I liked the location..great! and also very convenient because there was a train station (Anvers) right next to the hotel. Rue D'Orsel is also bustling with activity and it is a short walk to the beautiful basilica Sacre Coeur. The sheets were cleaned everyday and the towels switched. It was very comfortable.
Sometimes, the noise level outside got too loud and due to the thin walls, one can hear the cleaning lady come by and go in the rooms next door.
Great location, directly under Sacre Coeur. There's lots of bars and restaurants around and it seemed like a safe area. Our room was big and quiet. Nothing extravagant but great value for money.
Nothing really, it was what I expected (if not slightly better) for the price if the hotel. There we'd no shampoo in the bathroom, but other than that it was good.
The location is perfect. Its a budget hotel dont expect any comfortable and pleasant stay. Just sleep.
No free wi-fi.
Close location from Sacre-Coeur
We liked the location as it was near great cafes, shops, and easy walking distance to the Sacre Coeur. It was in a beautiful area of the city.
the internet connection did not work...barely a hit and mostly a miss...with a bit of effort the decor could look more inviting
Very close to metro and sacre coeur. Refrigerateur in room. Friendly staff. Many shops and restaurants nearby. It is ok for visiting Paris whole day and rest over the night. Not for pretentios people.
No coffee maker. Oldfashioned. The owners could improve a little.
Everything is greeat, good place for few days.Towels were changed every day.Very clean hotel, and very charmed!!!Room was big and toilet also!
The service was poor and the staff impolite. The room was dirty and didn't match the photos.
location, cleanliness, and the fact that even though is located in a very busy area at night i slept like a baby , no noise at all. thank you
The Bearnais is a quirky and very traditional small Parisian hotel, which appears to have started life as a couple of 19th century blocks of flats with a courtyard (which is still there) between them, and been converted into a hotel at a later date. A modern corporate hotel it is not, but it has a lot of period charm, feels very French, and is amazingly well located. The entrance hallway walls have some lovely hand painted local scenes done directly on panels surrounded by tiles. One of the finest views in Paris, from Sacre Cour (Sacred Heart) on top of Monmarte hill, is less than five minutes walk from the front door, with a funicular to take you up the steep bit of the climb if you don't want to walk up the steps. Anvers Metro on Line 2 is even closer, and the Moulin Rouge and associated attractions are ten minutes the other way. There are lots of late night bars, cafes, and restaurants all around. Despite the wonderful location, the hotel and street outside are quiet. The beds are supremely comfortable and I had a very good night's sleep for both nights we were there.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room (this didn't bother me as I don't like hot drinks of any kind, but my friends were surprised by this). While mostly clean, the shower room had a few dusty corners. But overall the room was clean and well presented.
Big sleeping room and bathroom, not too far from city center (15 min with metro), not expensive
Of course not a 5 stars hotel
Location is really great. Good sound isolation - for 3 days we didn't hear anyone. Hairdrier in room. Surprisingly towels were changed daily. Good place for few days of stay to have a rest at nights for money we paid.
Old building, poor furniture, very small toilette but nothing that much terrible for money you pay.
The staff was wonderful and the room very clean
The room was very tight in space, the bathroom in poor condition (like the shower curtain hung badly and no room for soap or shampoo), and the closet door in the bedroom was brokenand just hanging there. Also, no shampoo came with the room.
Good for metro dependent tourist and budget travellers
The location or arr is not too safe. Cant stay out too late or have flashy shopping bags
Staff and Location OK.
Building a bit run down. Not free internet.
