Best Western Plus l'Artist Hotel, hotel in Tours

Best Western Plus l'Artist Hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Old City centre of Tours and 150 metres from the central train station.

Breakfast was simple, but adequate. The room was clean, a little dark, but again adequate for a 3 night business stay. Location was perfect for the Rail Station and conference centre. Bar was poorly stacked and service was a little short, the person serving had difficulty opening a bottle of wine. Overall the hotel was OK, but not a 4star.

Tours is a nice walkable city.

Tours is a nice walkable city. The 'old town' is picturesque and the more modern side has lots of shops. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are lots of tourist attractions including gthe cathedral of course. Also there is a large tourist office with helpful staff to help organise day trips to Chateaus etc. Transport links are very good with a station close to the city centre.

It was very easy to find the hotel, even though it was in the middle of the city. The hotel sent directions in advance of adjacent underground parking which was a real help. We recommend La Plume Blanche in the Place Plumereau

Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out...

Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out along the Loire river. The trams and busses are easy enough to figure out. The brochures describe the 'gastronomic' experience that awaits, but that must apparently be researched and booked in advance. Strolling around the old medieval streets without a booking, we found more kebab shops and bars than gourmet restaurants, but perhaps we were in the wrong place.

Tours is a fantastic vibrant town with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. It was our second visit and we’ll definitely be back. We stayed at Castel Fleuri which is a ten minute walk away and is exceptionally good. The staff are very welcoming and provided us with a map of Tours which was great. I would not hesitate to recommend Tours as an overnight stop to break your journey or for a longer stay to explore and enjoy.

Tours was a wonderful city with a lively night life, historic sites and lots of high quality wine and food at every turn. There was very little car traffic in many parts of the old city, so walking around, is great. I’d love to go back and explore more.

I choose Tours as a base camp for exxploring the Loire valley up and down by train and bike. This did work out, just beware of the train schedule. It is very sparse except on weekends. Tours itself turned out to be more attractive than I had expected.

One of the best place we have ever stayed! The apartment is just beautiful, very clean, well equipped. We enjoyed a movie night in the wonderful cave-living room (try the wines they have there for the guests!). The little garden with seating is also really nice and quiet, great place to relax. Safe parking space. And the owners are really kind and helpful. It's also quite close to the city center, we walked there with our kids without problems. Absolutely recommended in Tours!

This is an economical, convenient hotel I have stayed in before and would stay in again. As it is on the outskirts of Tours it is best when you need somewhere straightforward to sleep when travelling, rather than for tourism. The staff are polite and helpful. It's no frills, simple and clean. Rooms are well sound-proofed; I know that the room next door was occupied but never heard anyone.

My 2 night stay in Tours has extended to 2 or 3 weeks because of my husband’s hospitalisation. The staff at ‘the People’ have been very caring and extremely supportive in helping me with my difficult and changing circumstances. The friendly atmosphere around the bar in the evening provides a friendly and homely atmosphere. I couldn’t have hoped for more. They have been wonderful.

The hotel is in a good location and has several parking spots, which really helped in this area because parking on the street was limited. It was about a 20-25 minute walk to Place Plumereau, the lovely square that is one of the main areas of Tours. The owners are friendly and helpful and gave us a lost of information about the city, nearby restaurants, etc.

The room was small and basic, but very very clean and well decorated, i have used a lot of budget hotels when driving between the UK and southern France. And this is by far the best to date. Friendly, courteous staff and a really good value breakfast at only 8.50€. The.built in usb points next to the bed were a refreshing touch. Will definitely book again.
