Les Chandelles Bed & Breakfast is in a renovated farm house in a quiet French village. It is a perfect base for exploring the west and southwest sides of the Paris region and is a handy stopover on your way from the Normandy coast to southern France. Les Chandelles has five bedrooms, two of which were opened last year. The other three were recently renovated. All rooms feature a TV and full private bathroom. The bathrooms are modern and equipped with a bathtub-shower combo. There is lots of hot water for everyone. The rooms are situated in a separate building adjacent to the main house. They have a private entrance, so you can come and go as you please. The rooms are up one flight of stairs, at the top of which is a communal area complete with a fridge. Catherine, the owner, was very gracious and made us feel very welcomed to her b&B. The community room is very nice and the availability of coffee and tea is a nice touch. Would recommend this b&b for someone or a couple who want quiet time in the country but not for anyone who desires to be close to Chartres. It was most likely our own fault as we did not check out the location of the b&b prior to making our reservation. It is perfect for a couple that want some quiet time in the country but since we had come to the area to see Chartres, we found it to be quite a way out into the country and the roads leading to the b&b were probably 5 Km of single or very narrow roads. Also, the stairs leading to the rooms are very steep and difficult to maneuver with a suitcase. The charge for the internet would not have been bad but the WiFi interent only worked in the community room and not in our room as we would thought to be the case.

Het was rustig, kamer was prima. We konden pas vanaf 17.30 u inchecken, we waren een half uur te vroeg, de deur werd nietbopengedaan, terwijl de eigenaresse er wel was. Er is geen mogelijkheid om daar wat te drinken, je moet alles zelf meenemen. De kamer was erg duur in verhouding tot andere kamers waar we hebben gezeten.

La décoration a été faite avec goût. La propriétaire est disponible, agréable et accueillante. Les chambres d’hôtes sont bien placés : à proximité de Maintenon ( 5 minutes), à 1/2 heure de Chartres et proche de la forêt de Rambouillet Le lieu-dit n'est pas répertorié dans les gps. Il faut se rendre à Villiers- le Morhier puis prendre contact avec la propriétaire.

Goed gelegen voor zowel een bezoek aan Parijs en Versailles als genieten van de rust en de natuur. In de omgeving nog genoeg te zien en te bezoeken. Een hartelijk onthaal en privé parking op het domein zijn voorzien.
