There were no lighta at all on the landing where our rooms were located and no overhead light in my daughter's room. It looked as if the hotel was in the process of being 'done up' - the bathrooms had been done but the bedrooms were very shabby. The rooms were clean but the corridors were not. The car-park advertised on the web-site was not available.I Thought the rooms were expensive for what we received.

Hotel locked when we arrived so we could not get in at 2.15pm. Called number on door and told come back at 5.30pm! Had requested quiet room at rear of hotel. We were given the exact opposite. Very noisy younger crowd very late into the night. Has this hotel become 'social services B&B'? Will think very seriously before booking again.

Being re furbished - so comments must be taken in this context. Location adjacent to Channel/ Cote d'amour restaurant Clean modern shower/toilet 40 Euros cheaper than Suite or Mercure 1. Needed refurb it was getting- dated 2. No private parking, but street parking OK for vehicle i had with me - for either of (new) other family cars would not be happy 3 Wi fi free was nonsensically and virtually impossible to contact 4 None of elec sockets worked in room!!

Its location is great. Direct in the lively centre of Calais. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. The car ferry is just 5 minutes away. The breakfast was very simple. Its buffet style so you will find enough to eat but not much variety. All cold foods. The hotel is in need of some investment in carpets etc, although our room was refurbished and clean. Shower cubicle very small. They did not reserve space in their garage for me as requested in my booking.

The location is great for a leisure break and shopping, right in the heart of the bar/restaurant area. It's also good for the Wednesday/Saturday market and there is a free bus to and from the town centre. Plenty of free parking. Nothing really but if you were pedantic; no tea making facilities in the room and no english language tv channel?

The position of the hotel The room was poorly decorated although it would appear the shower and toilet has been recenlty refurbished why not the room? The hotel advertised 24hr service the bar was operated by a night porter who no idea what to charge their was not draft beers gin or tonic etc very very poor! I have stayed in much better hotels in both France and Spain for a similar cost with much better standards!

Staff sincerely tried to mitigate problems described below. Could no rest due to concurrent construction noise; also, could not surf internet due lack of knowledge/instructions from staff.

Location Upon reaching our rooms, we were rather upset to find the so called double room was minus carpet, there was under felt of dubious age and rather dirty on the floor. The bathroom was clean but the facities were rather old and very basic. Remarkable decor upon the wall next to the double bed, mould that covered 30 sq cms, that gave the room an unusual aroma. The single room was clean, with a modern bathroom and carpet, no mould was visible. The lounge was furnished with what appeared to be a very old, dirty lounge suite, but a modern flat screen television. The dinning area was aged but clean, cotton tableclothes were spoilt by brown paper place mats. Service supplied by the young lady present was very good. If my guest and I were staying more than one night, I would have removed my party to another hotel. Needless to say I will not be returning the Hotel Belazur.

Room was clean and functional. Convenient location for the Eurotunnel. Good selection of places to eat locally. Secure parking available. Decor is a bit dated and the bath was coming away from the wall.

A clean bed to sleep in. Availability of car park. Bedroom and bathroom needing a bit of tlc. Only just possible to pull out the pull out bed by moving double bed against the wall, requiring us all to climb into bed from the end!

“Warm welcome and helpful guidance regarding where to dine. Well placed for walking to restaurants and for peace and quiet near a park.Clean room, newly re-furbished, with good en suite facilities (though some tiny finishing jobs to do). Pleasant breakfast room and good choice of food. Private parking was a distinct bonus and worth paying a little extra. Wi-fi was useful. Check-in and check-out were very efficient. The owner is a gem and is rightly proud of his hotel which he is slowly renovating himself.” Gabrielle, Aubiet |
