The vue on the port, for sure ! The Room itself, quality of the furniture La caravelle, the bar downstairs.

The staff office is quite small, hard for them I guess.

The location is excellent. The view from our room was lovely. Room/bed/ shower were all good. Nice bar on the first floor of the hotel.

Would be a problem if you couldn't cope with a lot of stairs but worth the climb.

Location with great views of the old port. Easy access to everything with nearby metro station. Great bar with music some evenings and terrace overlooking sea to have breakfast or lunch.

Breakfast was usually good but rather dependant on who served it. Once yoghurt was frozen. Decor a bit faded although it didn't bother us. It might be worth checking if band can be heard. Our bedroom was above it but it didn't disturb us.

Location is perfect, view from the window and morning sun.

The carpet on the floor was very old, the same goes for the chair in the room and shower curtains. But apart from that the room was nice and comfortable, even if it was very small.

Got a great deal on this hotel and spent a couple of days getting to know the town. Staff were really friendly and the bar on the first floor is one of the coolest places in Marseille to have a drink and chill, but do check the bar prices if you're on a budget. The location is perfect and the view over the vieux port second to none. Loved it !

The hotel and staff was wonderful!! We were upgraded for free to a bigger room upon check-in. The staff was super helpful in answering our 'typical tourist' questions although they seemed busy. Not sure why such bad ratings, even my lady says the same.

Excellent location for the 'old port' Our room had a great view of Notre Dame and all the facilities were very clean. Breakfast was good too. Fresh juice great coffee and croisants. The staff were also very helpful.

The room was very small, and there was nowhere to hang clothes, ok for us as we were only staying for one night after a cruise, but if you were staying longer a wardrobe would be very necassary.

No elevator

Clean and comfortable enough with a breathtaking view from the room on the old port and Notre dame de la garde. Nice atmosphere with a quite popular bar "La caravelle". There was an acoustic duo (guitar, singer) on my first night. Also, enjoyed having my breakfast on the balcony with the view that comes with it.

Location is great and they have a fantastic bar in the hotel.

Air con didn't work and it was very hot!

Location and building were good.

The rooms were tiny and hot and the AC didn't seem to work. Also they're fixing the seaside walkway and it was very loud with tons of jackhammering.

Staff. They were very helpful and friendly especially to first-time Marseille visitors like us.

No lift. For heavy travelers (we came all the way from Asia so it was really difficult carrying heavy luggage). No aircon. We stayed for 2 nights and airconditioning (which we paid for.....), did not function.

The room was newly decorated and comfortable. It was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English. The location was convenient to public transport and the old Port of Marseilles. No car required. It was walking distance to tourist attractions city tour bus and little train.

No air conditioning. There was a lot of noise from the downstairs restaurants and smoke from the balcony below where smokers sit in the restaurant of the hotel. This made it impossible to open the windows and it was very stuffy. There is no elevator in the hotel and reception is on the first floor which would make it difficult for some mature people or those with a lot of luggage. During 2012 Marseilles City is doing a major renovation of the Old Port. The entire waterfront is being dug up and re-paved. It is impossible to drive in the area and very noisy and dusty. I would recommend people not to stay here at present. When the works are finished it will be very nice and a gret place to stay

Excellent location and wonderful views from all the windows. The hotel has lots of character. The restaurant with balcony on the first floor is great for breakfast. We liked the traditional, french decor of the public rooms and the modern decor of the bedrooms.The room was good value given the central location.

The room was very small, with no place to store clothes (no wardrobe, only small bedside cupboards). The air-conditioning didn't work properly. We asked for it to be fixed but it wasn't. The safe was locked so we couldn't use it, staff claimed not to have the key to open it. When we paid, they didn't tell us or provide a written receipt of what we were being charged for, and claimed not to be able to print out a copy of this. I don't think there was anything odd going on but it was strange and inconvenient. So overall, the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful but their ability to try to put problems right seemed a bit limited!

The views were incredible and having a balcony for drinks and breakfast really made our stay in Marseille very special.

I loved Hotel Belle-Vue! It's a quirky little place in a great location and with an excellent view. The bar on the first floor was a lot of fun and the perfect place to while away an afternoon when it's too hot to be outside or for an aperitif or nightcap. I would definitely recommend this place.

There is no lift in the hotel, which is not ideal if you have a heavy case, so pack light. The bedroom/facilities are comfortable but not luxurious, but the location and experience make it good value.

Perfect location. Perfect view. Yes, hotel is not new and luxury, but there is some kind of charm in that and hotel's history behind scenes. Anyway, room inside is modern and clean.

No lift. Awful for traveler with navy luggage.

What a beautiful of the port. The cafe is fantastic a view of the port great jazz music staff super friendly great location. Room very clean with views. Will stay there again Restaurants on your door step. Easy access to venues

Extremely small room only a bed. So uncomfortable that you can't take in your luggage and was hard to open the bathroom door.

I love how they make maximum use of minimum space. I loved the ambience of the bar area, reminiscent of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Staff are friendly and the room was kept clean. The view from the room and the balcony at the bar are just stunning. 2 metro stops from the bus station make it really accessible.

There is no lift and really very difficult to bring bags up four floors or indeed just to walk up and down anytime. The prices for drink are way too high.

Nice hotel with a lovely balcony overlooking the Old Harbour. Good value for money.

It was very clean, staff was exceptionally friendly. The location was perfect on the Port and close to all attractions. Many eating establishments within easy walking distance. Breakfast at hotel was a good value.
