Hotel Berlioz  

The moment we arrived we felt comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Our room albeit small was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was an easy 5 to 10 minute stroll from the station and 15 minutes to the beach and town. From a location point of view we would rather be away from the beach etc as it makes you walk more (which we enjoy) and investigate the town properly, Berlioz fitted this bill perfectly for us. For Nice the price was fantastic value for money.

The hotel looked fresh and clean (the room was cleaned every morning as long as we were away). The location was very good - a short walk from the train station and a 15-20 minute walk to the beach or the Old Town. The room was comfortable - with a/c, spacious bathroom with a good shower, tv and a wardrobe. There's a breakfast buffet available, but we didn't use this option, so can't comment. The internet connection was great to have at the hotel. It was strongest at the lobby, but our room on the top floor still had good enough signal for checking emails and general browsing (although probably not strong enough for watching videos etc). Overall, great value and glad we picked this hotel.

There isn't generally anyone at the desk at the lobby, especially in the afternoon and evening, unless they're expecting people checking in or out. So it feels more like apartments than a hotel. But you get a key to the front door and there's cctv in the lobby, so it feels secure. The owner is always just a telephone call away. Expect an email the day before you arrive, confirming your booking and asking about the time of your check-in. I found this communication quite reassuring and useful.

Just an 8 room hotel spread over 2 floors. The owner was very helpful. Room was a good size, with Air Conditioning, was cleaned everyday & provided with new towels & soaps. Quiet outside at night. Front Door is kept locked so hotel is quite secure. <10 minutes walk from Nice Ville SNCF Free WiFi that worked!

A toaster and bread would have been a good addition to the buffet breakfast. You have to advise by email of your expected arrival time a few days before hand - which is not really a problem proided you have access to your email and aware of requirment.

Clean and tidy room, easy and near to reach the beach. The staff is very helpful.

Decent location. Alhough atnight there were hookErs on the corner both nights we were coming back. Still quite quiet place and good 150m walking distance from trainstation.

No sign of legendary owner's assistance except for nice few chit- chats.Room slightly small and still quite hot despite good air- conditioning. There should be a table at least with possibility of making tea on the corridor if not in a room. Not so huge investment.

Attentiveness of manager of hotel to clients needs. I arrived late night and received phone cal with confirmation that they will wait for me Breakfast was waiting me in time and choice for breakfast was very good as for such level hotel Perfect location for train station and close to city centre

Location (close to the train station) was excellent.Hotel rooms small, however very very clean. Staff were helpful and very friendly.I would definitely stay here again.

The only downside would be there is no one avail on reception after abut 7pm, and there is no lifts to the 3rd floor (however the hotel owner carried my suitcase up).

The very effective air conditioning!! We really appreciated it.

Exelllent emplacement à deux pas de la gare. Petit déjeuner buffet très correct. La climatisation a été appréciée car il fait très chaud à Nice en été.

Chambres un peu bruyantes quand on ouvre la fenêtre et salle de bain mal aérée. Pas d'ascenseur et escaliers assez raides.
