Best Western Bastia Centre  

we were travelling on the corsica ferry, so the location for that purpose was quite good and there was underground, secure parking which was nice. what was not nice however, was the fact that we got bites all over us from something in their bed! bed bugs? we spoke to the manager on leaving, but all they offered was a sorry and that no one has ever complained about something like that... this is not the first time this has happened as we are very frequent travellers, but the bites were severe enough to last for many days. as a result, we would not take the chance that could happen again at this hotel. also challenging was the fact that there were no restaurants near the hotel and you had to drive to get to those. parking in bastia is challenging to say the least, we got lucky, but could have easily spent 30 min. just trying to find a place to put the car as all the garages were full and we visited in off season. bastia as a city is not a travel destination, so if you are going there to see the sites, those are very few and you would probably be disappointed. the east side of the island is dissappointing and very touristy, the west side much, much better for site seeing. cant really think of one good stop on the east side in fact, our lunch stop on that side of the island like much of the island was pricey, 15 euro for a salad and saw a 14 euro hamburger on the menu for example.

Breakfast was the best value thing about this hotel, the rest was over priced.

Hotel is not central or near the port. It is up a long and very steep hill behind the town of Bastia. Fine if you are driving but hopeless if you are on foot and carrying cases. We picked it because of its supposed central location and were very disappointed. The hotel itself is functional but nothing more and is certainly over priced. We had a premium room and the bathroom was a windowless large cupboard that you might find in a caravan.

Ideal business hotel I think. It has everything that you would expect from a hotel of this type - but as always, lacks true character and atmosphere.

Staff very helpful. Other guests very friendly. Adequate breakfast. Close to train station.

It's a steep hike uphill if you're walking from the port. Not a bad location but further from center of town than I expected.

Quality of the rooms

It was easy to find and well sign posted. Was within walking distance to the centre although the hotel is at the top of a steep hill.I would recommend the hotel to my friends but would have to inform them about the costs as well...

Expensive to stay and wasnt happy about being charged 7.5 euros to park my car parking..

I stayed for only one night so I cannot judge much but it fully fulfilled our purpose. It is close and convenient if you arrive on the ferry late at night.

It is in a good position because you could walk into town fairly quickly, the staff were all multi-lingual and everyone was very helpful. You know exactly what to expect when you go to a good chain like this.

Very helpful staff

The staff at the front desk was very helpful in arranging to find a room in a hotel in Geneva, Switzerland.

It is a long climb uphill to the hotel. There weree no cabs available and many tourists and I had to walk to our hoel accommodations from the ferry from Nice.

Good parking in the vacinity.Good breakfast. Short walk to the city centre.Comfortable room.

Am Aufenthalt hat uns nicht gefallen, dass das Nichtraucher-Doppelzimmer wie ein alter Aschenbecher gerochen hat.
