We appreciated the efficiency of desk staff to connect us to Wireless internet and to advise on restaurants. The facilities of the room were well considered and, fortunately, well insulated from the building work noise next door. Good value at the agreed price....might look elsewhere if the advertised prices had been charged. A goo base for an overnight stopover en route to or from the coastal ports Excellent breakfast at the inclusive charge.. The hot water supply disappeared completely for 20 minutes at a crucial period before breakfast. Otherwise the supply was excellent. Surprised to read that animals are welcomed. We felt uncomfortable to think our room had been previously occupied by dogs. No animal rooms should be offered.

Very clean; central but quiet location. Nice new bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable, sagging in the middle.

Spacious family room, in fact composed of two seperate bedrooms. Very good breakfast, actually worth the 13 € per person. The hotel is very centrally located and easy to reach by car. The matress of the -tiny- double bed was very old and uncomfortable. One of the rooms very poorly lit. Old carpets and curtains with lingering smell of cigarette smoke although now a non-smoking room. Car parkwas overbooked resulting in having to move the car several times, despite having made a reservation.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. It had a good central location but in a quiet area. There was free internet access. Large clean bathroom well decorated and large bath. Solidly built on the lower floors so noise from other rooms didn't intrude. Beds comfortable Air conditioning in room worked quickly. Would be happy to stay again and recommend to friends. Nothing, never had breakfast.

Helpful support from English speaking receptionist. Failure to inform us that the Braderie Festival in Tours, an annual event, would make it difficult to navigate to the Hotel on the booked day. In the event it took us 90 minutes to get through and around the road closures using a sat/nav. No apology on eventual arrival so clearly Hotel did not see that advice on an open approach route would have been helpful. Also the Hotel insists that car keys are handed in to reception. These are then stored on a visible hook behind an often unmanned reception desk. A worrying security hazard for guests. The room was smaller and less comfortable than on a previous stay in May yet the charge was more expensive.

I knew it would be clean and comfortable. The location was good. The fact that there was a car parking place available if requested was definitely good. It is not a cheap/budget hotel and the breakfast was overly expensive, so we ate breakfast out.

It was in the middle of the city Being made to pay to park the car[ this should be included in the rates]. The room I stayed in was on 4th floor where a lot of alterations had gone on. The divide between 439 and 440 is only plasterboard and the bathroom next door is adjacent to the sleeping area of this room. All sounds from next doors bathroom could be heard clearly [ including the guest next door breaking wind ]. more sound insulation needs to be put on the walls.

Initially we chose this hotel for its location, central for visiting the Loire castles and cathedrals. We made an excellent choice and will certainly use Best Western again. The staff were unfailingly helpful and cheerful - they were well informed about the region and quickly found the correct garage to repair a broken rear window on our (English Corsa) car after we had an accident. They rang the garage without charging us for the call. One receptionist even found some heavy duty plastic sheeting to keep the inside of the car dry overnight until we could take it for repair (no charge for this). They gave us maps to find interesting places to visit, and helped us to arrange alternative payment methods when I forgot my new card number. The room was on the top floor, clean and bright, with an excellent bathroom and a view of the cathedral towers over the rooftops. Big fluffy towels and bathrobes were provided and replaced as often as required. Breakfast was good: choice of cold meats, sausages, eggs, cereals, toast, croissants, sweet rolls, yoghurts, fresh fruit, six kinds of coffee - can't remember everything, but all fresh and tasty. There was airconditioning and a tv in the room, but I'd advise booking parking space, which is limited. This hotel ticked all the boxes. Car parking is charged.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel in the city centre is excellent and in easy walking distance of lots of restaurants and bars and city sites. Access to it by road is also very simple. The bar area was small and the lady on reception had to run that and the desk which was hard for her

Good, quiet location within 5 minutes walk of old centre of Tours, shopping area and river. Hotel parking is limited, so worth booking in advance. Our room and bathroom not large, but adequate and comfortable. Easy to reach the many beautiful chateaux from here.

The staff was well informed about the area; restaurants, business locations, etc. Fluent in english and Spanish. The room was comfortable and quiet. More important, it's location is just a stones throw to all the important areas any tourist might want to visit.

Breakfast was very poor. Scrambled eggs left in a heater; are you serious? It takes very little effort to cook scrambled eggs fresh. Sausages out of a jar? I thought the region was famed for it's local produce and that includes the thousands of sausages in the local butchers shops!

Very helpful, friendly staff who gave us excellent advice on restaurants etc. We enjoyed a peaceful drink on the terrace after a busy day sightseeing. The town of Tours is right on your doorstep when staying at this hotel. There was plenty of fruit, yogurt and cereal for breakfast as well as a full array of croissant, pain au chocolat, bagette etc. and accompanying jam, honey and Nutella. Lots of different flavours of coffee and tea were also to hand.

“The room was spacious and right next to the train station. The information center was across the street and had great information, very helpful! We rented bicycles one street over from the hotel. The bikes were a great way to get around and see the whole city. We took long Bike tours through the countryside on really great and well maintained bike paths which were generally paved with some dirt road sections, but mostly paved. The bike signs for directions were very easy to follow. We missed the signs a couple of times but easily backtracked and found our way. It was a great way to see castles and we worked it out to take a train back to The Hotel Le Grande. Also there is a store right next door for wine, cheese, breads, fruit, and vegetables. Pretty much anything you need for a good time. There are many wonderful cafe's Right on the same street. It is a great choice!” Masami, Sylmar |
