A lovely building. Good car parking if you had pre booked. Food was good. Clean,tidy spacious hotel.

Run out of breakfast food 20 minutes before it had officially finished. Plastic baths. Service could have been friendlier.

Great location in centre of Arras.Secure car park in front or hotel.Quality restaurant and lounge area.

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. When we arrived there was a wedding reception in the function rooms and we were informed that our rooms had been selected to ensure we would not be disturbed by any late night revellers! We had a lot of trouble getting onto the free WiFi but again the reception staff were very helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked clean and efficiently run - but very quiet! The lounge was a pleasant meeting area. The gates to the car park were chained up at night so you felt the car was very secure. Very close to the Places so parked the car and walked on our return to the hotel each day.

Bit mean with the in-room refreshments - just one tea bag and one milk for a two person room! Would take my own next time!! We also couldn't get a drink in the bar when returning to the hotel after eating elsewhere.

Clean and well designed bedroom. Very quiet and peaceful but a great location, close to the centre of Arras.

Front desk staff weren't exactly friendly.

The location was excellent.central yet quiet.the set menu for dinner was very good and reasonably priced. The windows open properly which is rare these days,so no problem with air con.

The breakfast was good, but too expensive at 15 euros each. Best to eat out for breakfast.

Surly receptionist on arrival, a bit better in the morning, probably because we were paying. Pretentious restaurant, food quality not that good and certainly overpriced. Overall way overpriced.

Good central location Evening meal v.good, but breakfast was limited re. Fresh fruit. Room was a good size.

Reception was not particular helpful when asked for directions, in fact one lady was quite rude. Toiletries were poor. Having to pay for parking is unacceptable

The hotel is lovely, great location, parking perfect. Staff friendly breakfast very good, although it does cost you 15 euros, but in my opinion, well worth it.

Our first room was lovely, but our second room, on our return journey, was a little bit tired, it could do with a little painting, walls etc. otherwise would certainly stay again.

Great location, nice rooms, quiet courtyard area, parking.

Breakfast was overpriced (so didn't purchase) and it seemed the difference between the comfort room and the delux room was minimal (comfort was infact larger) not sure if is worth the additional 20 euros...

Have stayed at this hotel twice before and loved it. We took friends this time. It is under new ownership, has been updated and is even nicer. Will go back again and again.

The food in the restaurant was good and the room was nice and quiet.

The staff were completely dreadful - unhelpful and seemed very unhappy in their jobs. Parking was a joke - I had requested parking in advance but they told me I could have one space, then that was already used and we had to move more than once. The restaurant food was nice but the staff were very unwelcoming - had to ask for everything several times.

Very comfortable ideally located city hotel at sensible price. Excellent restaurant.

Location to city centre

The cost of the drinks was very expensive , no wonder the bar was empty shame really as other than that it was a very nice hotel

charm and character of outside building and also the room we stayed in. Bed was really comfortable. Extra pillows in the wardrobe.

We needed somewhere to put / open a suitcase (room 105). View not the greatest from the room but could be improved with a coat of paint on the block wall opposite! The bathroom radiator thermostat is tucked away under the sink.

1. Requested reservations for both parking and dinner for 4 people. No negative response to request. We assumed to have had our requests accepted. Please note that when using booking.com there is nowhere these additional requests can be made. Separate email sent to hotel immediately we received confirmation of our booking. NOTE Two years ago when we stayed with friends at this hotel we were told we did not have a reservation for dinner but when we were able to prove we had requested a reservation we were allowed a table. I suggest you improve your communications with customers. Acknowledgement of requests would be a good start. 2. We arrived Sat 20th Oct about 4pm. A lady was in Reception discussing details at length with the Duty Receptionist. A Manager appeared greeted the lady, exchanged a few words with her. When the Manager was about to go I tried to give her my name so we could receive our keys etc. I was told, very curtly that the Duty Receptionist would attend to me shortly. She did not but continued checking the spelling of the names the lady had. These names sounded like a list of guests who would be attending a wedding. More people arrived in Reception but still the checking of names went on. After about 15 minutes when 7 or 8 people were waiting the lady suggested to the Receptionist that she should attend to us. I suggest a better system be employed when Reception gets busy. Maybe the Manager could help to reduce the waiting time. This was not a good introduction to your hotel for our friends who were visiting from New Zealand.

Reception staff were very accommodating. The hotel location was refreshingly quiet and secluded. The restaurant food and service was impressive and we really appreciated the cute lounge next to the dining room where we could enjoy pre-dinner and post-dinner drinks. Parking out the front was appreciated.

The Best Western Hotel De L'Univers was elegant and charming, with excellent service. Our room was beautifully decorated in the charming French style and extremely comfortable and quiet. We dined one night in the very elegant restaurant and the food and service were superb. The hotel is extremely quiet and because it has a huge courtyard, it provides secure parking which we appreciated. The hotel is an easy stroll from all the major sights of Arras including the Cathedral, the Place and restaurants. One of the main shopping streets is just outside the courtyard but you would never even know it was there it was so quiet!

Nothing - everything was excellent during our stay.
