A superb meal in lovely quiet room. And they upgraded us to a suite.
The location and the free onsite car park - when available.
Arrived at 3 pm to be told our room was not ready, then another member of staff said, in a manner which suggested he was doing us a great favour, that we could be given another room which was ready. This room was accessed by a door from the parking area into the lift lobby - tiny lift and narrow spiral staircase.
This hotel is spotlessly clean and very central.
We stayed in the top floor where you have to go outside the building to go to. The stairs is so narrow & twisty!! Lift is tiny!!!!
Great central location
Staff Extremely expensive Small room Cracked toilet seats Dated design
The staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English. Our room was very spacious and clean with an extremely comfortable bed. Located in the heart of Caen, this hotel is close to shops, restaurants and the most beautiful architecture you could ever hope to see. I can highly recommend this lovely hotel.
The location & staff were wonderful
The gym was tiny & some equipment didn't work. Significant extra cost to use any spa facilities - so I can't comment on them.
Even with the event period, the value for money was not quite there
Convenient location, quiet spot
No lift, no wardrobe in room, just shower and no bath tub, unreliable WiFi, cramped room, room temperature not controlled, limited parking
The food in the restaurant was Michelin star quality.
There is no lift in the old part of the hotel.
Very pleasant welcome
Everything about this hotel was excellent. Antoin on reception was particularly kind and helpful, even spending time to show me how to work my gps in the hire car! Really enjoyable stay and look forward to returning to Le Dauphin. Sally Perth Australia.
Location was great and we managed to park at the hotel in the limited spaces for the duration of our stay. Wifi worked in our room which was a bonus.
We chose the petit dejeuner rapido option but there was no menu. It was difficult to find out what food choice was available. My husband asked for coffee and croissant but got that, plus bread, jam and two cake type items which he didn't ask for nor did he eat. It might be a good idea to have a "la carte" with separately priced breakfast items which could be selected by the individual so that they know what they are getting and how much they are paying. Four others in the room also struggled as they also were unsure what was on offer and we all got the same items anyway despite the variation of our orders.
Good location and helpful front desk staff.
Mattress was horribly stiff - uncomfortable to sleep on. While I enjoyed the pool, the view of the hotel parking lot was strange. I would have preferred more privacy.
Lack of air and even fan the first night meant we had to sleep with open window with lots of outside noise.
We arrived very late at night to the hotel and the restaurant was closed. The receptionist organised a lovely simple supper for us with the chef who was ready to leave. All the staff were really nice and friendly. The location in the centre is very near the historical buildings and was ideal for sight seeing. The Hotel itself is perfect for travellers: right in the centre, good value and lovely breakfast.
It rained but nothing else....only wished we could have stayed longer.
Excellent location in city centre with parking; friendly and helpful staff.
No air conditioning on a very noisy street. Hard mattresses. Small rooms.
Staff were extremely helpful with receptionist having good English. Very close to transport and historic centre.
The neighbour who decided to start DIY at 8h30 in the morning on Sunday... Shame that restaurant was closed.
The welcome and help from the staff. The food. The city centre position.
The parking was difficult.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We booked this hotel as a stop over after returning from the Le Mans classic motor race. I thought that it might be quite relaxing with having a spa facility. I imagined this to be included in the room price but was quite put out to find it was an extra fifteen euros per person to use the spa room.
We enjoyed everything about the hotel but the food especially was fabulous. We are planning another visit as soon as we can! Thank you for making our stay such a happy one.
There was nothing not to like
Central location in the town we parked the car in the private car park and walked everywhere.
The room was very pleasant, clean and tidy. The food was excellent in the restaurant
No tea or coffee in the room. Bar was very expensive Parking was a bit difficult. We ended up parking in the Château car park, which was very reasonably priced (5 euros for overnight parking)
