nice chateau from the outside, spacy family room, receptionist was very nice (but stressed....) unfriendly, cold and very arrogant service in the restaurant - not a single smile or a friendly word (this "killed the mood" in the whole restaurant), no meals for kids, cold and pseudo-modern atmosphere in the restaurant - a pity for such a nice chateau. staff was noisily washing up just behind our table during dinner. no toilet-paper in the room (!), strange carpet in the whole room - even in the toilet (!), self-service for coffee for breakfast, no asking for help with luggage etc. - definitively not what you would expect in a 4*-Hotel

The combination of modern rooms with a traditional historical building has been worked out very successfully. The personnel was very open, helpful and friendly. A place to return to. A gym could be an asset. It's too cold to go jogging outside in winter time.

Lovely building, great location. The interior of this great building lets the whole thing down. It has been renovated in a totally inappropriate style which grates. There is no air conditioning. Lack of comfortable public spaces/seating areas.

Lovely staff, very helpfull. Even understood our scottish accents. Lovely setting.breakfast was superb. The rooms in the orangerie are a bit compact. However the shower and toilet had room to move. The chairs in the dinning room are very French. I.E. stylish and impractical, not comfortable for lingering in after the meal.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the evening meal was absolutely delicious. The interior decor of this beautiful chateux is completely wrong! The furnishings were all very out of place and offered no comfort at all. It spoils the ambience of this beautiful building.

Very large and beautiful grounds. Luxurious hotel and the staff were excellent. Also a very good restaurant, if a little expensive, but food was very good and so was the wine.

Nice chateau setting. Pleasant staff Mould inbetween the tiles of the bathroom shower. The fact that the staff said we could eat in the restauront at first, but when we came down, they said it was fully booked and sent us back into Le Mains.

The setting was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean.Staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. The dinner was delicious. The staff were very busy dealing with two weddings on the afternoon of our arrival. So that it was difficult to get the drink orders to be taken and served. Athough they were trying their best. Why isn't there a swimming pool?

Like: When you first arrive "it's a chateaux!!!!" The grounds, quiet, relaxing, not at very busy (August), view from the bedroom window. Dislike: When you go inside "they've ruined the chateaux!" It's like a travellodge inside, the food (please get a decent chef), the chairs and cutlery in the restaurant (yes cutlery, it's almost unusable). Fix all these and it would be worth the price. I would however recommend it if you eat out.

The setting, the grounds and the Chateau: beautiful! The staff were very courteous, friendly and helpful. The room was situated in an outbuilding, at ground floor level. Though the room itself was spotlessly clean and very well appointed, there were no windows and no air conditioning. During the night, I had to get up and open the door several times to get some fresh air. I asked to be moved to another room the next morning and the staff were very pleased to help. There was a window in the new room but it was still on the ground floor and was a potential security risk.

Clean rooms with large comfortable beds. Nice decor. Not particularly family friendly; although the staff are very welcoming the facilities are not really geared towards families with young children.

Chairs in dining room uncomfortable. Bedroom very spartan, like a cell, needs at least some picutres to brighten it up. Not a luxury hotel.

Room was fantastic. This is a castle. We stayed in a castle, very exciting and romantic. Huge, I mean huge bathroom, comfortable bed, shutters to keep out the sunshine, quiet, excellent restaurant. Wished we had more than 1 night here. Kind of out of the way, but we knew that ahead of time.

Beautiful old chateau that has been nicely renovated and landscaped. The dinner and breakfast are particularly good. Small room. Charged 10 eur for baby cot.

The location was very special. So tranquil and beautiful especially seeing the chateaux floodlit at night and being able to sit outside and eat. The food was not up the usual standard we had come to expect in France. Service was slow and drinks didn't arrive until after the meal was served which was quite strange.

Very nice castel-hotel in a wonderfull park ! Great modern rooms and bathrooms. WiFi and parking facility included. Everything was perfect. Only one bad point: the hotel is quite close to the highway which can be a little bit disturbing

The location We asked for a quiet room but there was no insulation between us and the room above (embarassingly we could hear everything including their furniture moving at midnight). The room had no ventilation and only a door - no windows. There was no modesty covering on the windows in the door so we had to keep the curtains closed in order to have any privacy. At dinner I had the worst meal I have ever eaten in France! I could not cut the meat it was so tough! There was no tea & coffee available in the room and when we asked at reception, as it should have been provided, I was asked to take the tray back to the room myself. The decor in this converted chateau was 'retro chic' so was not in keeping with the surroundings and the furniture in the lounge & dining room was very uncomfortable (we had no seats in our room only a bed!).

Very good waitressing and service, helpful staff, great shower. Good wine recommended by waitress. Food was mediocre, obviously reheated and lazy cooking on very cold plates. I would suggest that the chef is not up to the job.
