Best Western Hôtel De France  

Excellent location in very beautiful town. Delightful restaurant Au Chapeau Rouge is next door. The hotel is in an attractive and lively square in the heart of the old town. Parking (public and paying) was OK for us but could be a hard to find in high season.

Very clen and modern inside a very old and charming building, right in the restaraunt square. Very quiet. Would stay again.

Tough no having a lift but understandable in these old buildings.

Good location to visit the area. Comfortable very good location in centre of the town. We used it as an overnight stop on way south but would go there again for longer stay.

Very nice location, nice decor. Staff is very helpful: I had to stay only one night and I arrived many hours late due to a travel problem so they arranged for a late checkout.

Friendly & helpful reception staff. Very central location within easy walk of chateau in a mainly pedestrian area with shops post office on same street. Although cenrtal not really noisy.

Not too easy to find & you have to read signs that say buses & hotels only & then you are confronted with a rising bollard in the road but actually when you are at this point the hotel is on the right corner but you tend not to see it because you are wondering whether to turn left or to try going through the bollard by speaking on the microphone!! The private garage of the hotel is essential if you have a car because of its location but you need to pre reserve it although it is free & only 50metres from the hotel.

The staff was extremely impressive. They were personable, accommodating, available & highly competent. The hotel decor is very charming. The location is perfect for someone who wants to stay in a small mid-evil town - and the town itself (Chinon) is in the heart of the Loire Valley and a great location for taking day trips to other towns and Chateaus.

The room always felt warm and we were not comfortable keeping the windows open when we slept because the windows were too easily accessible if someone did want to break in.

The location in the centre of Chinon is lovely, the hotel bistro is charming & great to have a car park.

The rooms are incredibly small, basic and tired for the amount charged

Hôtel très bien situé en plein coeur de Chinon, sur une petite place très animée, à deux pas de l'accès au Chateau. L'hôtel est très accueillant, décor chaleureux - poutres, boiseries, moquette - les chambres et la literie sont confortables. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est excellent, même si le service fut un peu long. Un plus: l'hôtel possède un garage (9 euros la nuit, mais c'est un véritable avantage, car le stationnement n'est pas facile en ville.)

Personnel extremement accueillant et compétent. Chambre et prestations de qualité. Hotel de classe. Propreté impeccable. Je recommande cet Hotel.
