Excellent location for visiting the Somme battlefields and the Circuit of Remembrance. At 12 Euros breakfast is way overpriced. We payed extra for a superior room which was just the same size as all the others except it had a Queen sized bed. The bathroom is small. Considering this is a 3 star Hotel, there only ever seemed to be one member of staff on duty at a time to wait tables, serve in the bar and manage Reception etc.

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help with my very poor understanding and inability to speak their language. They should all be commended for their customer care

Quiet, parking was easy. Relaxing bar area. Internet wasn't working, furnishings a bit tired, breakfast expensive and ordinary.

When exploring the Somme battlefields, there are very few accommodation options. Bw Picardie suited us quite well. The rooms were clean and adequate, although a bit dated and more expensive than some nicer places we stayed elsewhere in France during our 3 weeks. The downstairs lounge was a wonderful place to catch up before dinner. Parking was very useful. Breakfast was a very large selection with good coffee.

Staff were helpful, restaurant was very good with a good wine selection. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Good location on outskirts of town. For a french hotel it was about what we expected but not to the international Best Western standard and better than other hotels locally. We booked superior rooms which were quite small and a poor view over the roof of the kitchen with a vent pipe close by. Shower was to French plumbing standards !

24 hr front desk for late check-in convenient, free parking and internet was good. Cleaning staff tried to access the room early in the morning without knocking while we were still there. Thankfully the chain was in place otherwise they would have just walked in.

We had our 11 year old grandson with us for a tour of the Somme Battlefields and as he is vegetarian they very kindly made an omelette for him and included it in the children's menu.

Pity that breakfast is so expensive compared to what you get. 12 euro's per person is quite high. Even had to pay for the breakfast of a 4 year old who never will eat as much as an adult Not so much choice to go find nice breakfast location in this area.

The staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble - although there did not seem to quite enough staff to cope with the 'evening rush'. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning in the room was excellent and kept us nice and cool during a hot spell of weather. The bed was very comfortable and the bed clothes were very clean, although a lighter weight summer duvet would have been better than the heavy-weight one provided. There was plenty of parking. Ideal location for exploring the Somme ww1 battlefields area. The food in the hotel's restaurant was not up to standard and definitely over-priced. We had lamb chops which were so tough as to be unedible and the steak was not much better. The buffet starter and sweet courses were ok, but still expensive for what was provided. It's a 20-minute walk into the centre of Albert, but well worth the effort to get a better evening meal.

The hotel was well located with good access to the town of Albert and the war memorials situated on the Somme. There is no air-conditioning in the room itself but there is in the main areas.

A comfortable, friendly small hotel with excellent food and a well- stocked bar ideally situated for pilgrims to the war cemeteries and visitors to the battlefields of the Somme.

The staff are absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and nothing too much trouble. We had stayed at he Royal Picardie 2 years ago and found the staff brilliant then - nothing has changed- they are still great. We stayed at a very quiet time and it seemed that only a skeleton staff was running the place but they displayed no stress at the work load placed on them. The buffet evening dinner was very poor, particularly the main course, we were told of the format and accepted this but were a little disappointed bearing in mind we were in France where food is always excellent.

Staff were polite. Restaurant and public areas clean. Excellent car parking.Excellent location for WW1 Battlefields. The hotel was expensive (to book). Meals were very expensive, we ate elsewhere. Albert offers very little facilites, I had a cup of coffee served in a saucepan!!. No decent restaurants or cafes.

Clean, crisp bed linen and good pillows. Clean fluffy towels in rooms. Nice and warm. We had a good bottle of wine here - but it was pricey. The food was terrible. There was a buffet starter but it was very limited choice. Our vegetables and side dishes were cold, my fish tasted muddy and unclean. The cheese selection was limited and there were no biscuits or condiments to go with. The pastry desserts were dry. Four of us ate a four course menu and only one of us enjoyed the meal. Three of us were very disappointed. After this meal we decided not to have brekafast. The drinks were very expensive. The spirits they served were cheap and nasty tasting alternatives to what we asked for i.e Baileys was not a Baileys. The brandy tasted like paint stripper. Pints were ok but very expensive. The reading lamps in our bedroom did not work. There was no sugar in the complimentary tea and coffee tray in our room and very little milk, only enough for one cup. This hotel does not offer value for money. The quality of the food is poor, I will not recommend.
