As atvertised the appartment was located in the centre of Paris, near Saint Lazare station. Flat 9, 5 Rue de Stockholm was clean, spacious and reasonably comfortable, however....
While the two double beds were large, comfortable and clean, the rest of the furniture was of poor quality and in some cases was falling apart. The windows did not have suitable curtains and so let in a lot of light in the morning. The appartment has poor accoustic insulation. This problem was not helped by the fact that our neighbours were having a party While the appartment has cable TV and WiFi internet, it was not working during our short 2 day stay, and no effort was made to fix it. The reason given was that no technical specialists were available during the weekend who could take care of this.
There was no sign on the door SO i was very difficult to find it. We were walking around the 5th floor 40 minutes (at 2 a.m!!!!) calling to the office but even your worker didn't know what is the numer of flat.
Run down Buildings; Takes forever to get the key; AVOID!
Everything! The apartment was very spacious, clean and well furnished. The kitchen was clean and well equipped.
Washing machine didn't spin dry so clothes remained very wet and instructions were only in French! This was not an issue though.
The location was really good
The apartment was untidy looking, curtains were hanging off windows, rugs on floor was very well worn and untidy. We booked for four adults, but only part roll of toilet tissue there. Couldn't find the booklet the help with settling in, etch. But the location was excellent. The last minute change to the rental location was a downgrade as compared to the info we reviewed when we booked on line.
Wasted half a day to get the key - They won't give out a key before four pm (afternoon). You will have to commute across Paris to get it. It is NOT close to where you will be staying. You will NOT be able to drop your luggage once you arrive. You will NOT be able to store your luggage on the day of departure. You will NOT know where you will be staying until you get the key. They are NOT going to help you out.
We booked Apartment for 4 people, in Paris, and when we picked up the keys they told us we are not going to be at the location where we booked, and it wasn't the same Apartment really!!! We had 77 stairs to climb and when we entered there was just one bathroom and one toilet not two as we booked!!! such a waste of money!
Very good location, apartment was comfortable, clean and well equipped. There were 3 in our party and the apartment was a good size. Would stay again.
Lift was out of order and apartment was in 5th floor so but of a treck with luggage or shopping. Common areas could be cleaner ie stairs . Instructions to access were unclear and incorrect so I ended up having to call the office to clarify. 11am Sunday checkout was an issue as we had luggage to store - very inconvenient( in the end used gare de l'est) .
The flat was close to the metro, very clean, bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The hotline agents were very helpful and friendly.
The keys of the apartment needed to be picked up at another location, which was not on a walking distance from the flat and which is definitely not the best option if you have a luggage or arrive at night. I selected a different apartment, but the day before my arrival I was informed (only by e-mail and very late in the evening) that I would be offered another flat, very close though, as the one I chose was not available. The new apartment was on the 5th floor and the elevator was out of order.
The lift was very helpful as we were on 5th floor, the view out window to Eiffel Tower was a nice surprise. Main bed was comfortable.
Toilet area too small, bath to high hard to get into especially for an older person who was with us. Stove top difficult to use. The pick up of keys and not meeting anyone was a little impersonal. No bottle opener in kitchen. Very small apartment.
Clean reasonably equipped apartment conveniently situated near l'Arc de Triomphe and metro stations although not the location I originally booked, A good selection of restaurants nearby.
The agency to pick up the keys was a long way from the apartment but the receptionist told us it was a short walk and one stop on the metro. The walk was the length of the Champs Elysees and there were at least 10 flights of steps at the metro stations the whole process taking over an hour. Bearing in mind we were carrying luggage why were we not advised to take a taxi?On arrival there was no hot water and the info pack said if there was none in the evening there would be none until the following morning as it recharges overnight.Still none next morning not sorted until 5pm.Not acceptable in a major European city.
The lift does not operate until mid-October and it was necessary to carry luggage up stairs to the 6th floor. In the welcome letter did not notice this situation.
An excellent way to discover Paris, close to Metro, and for s fanily it worked well to be in an apartment instead of a hotel. Good electronic facilities, comfortable sleep, typical Parisian surroundings.
The concept of picking up and dropping keys was new to us; little time-consuming to find 2 addresses first. We arrived on Saturday and the elevator did not work. We left on Tuesday, still no elevator. It was OK this time but for families with younger children or bigger luggague would have been a real problem... Plus a suggestion: would be excellent to find a way to leave the luggage somewhere when you check out.
Didn't inform us before changing the apartment location.
The appartment was really nice: comfortable, clean, well organised and secure.
The general organisation is a bit of a bad surprise: having to go to Miromesnil to collect the key (from a safe for which you get the code by phone), then to Reaumur Sebastopol to get to the appartment. Total 1 hour and 2 metro tickets makes it really far from meeting the "5 minutes de la gare St Lazare" description. Ok for several nights, but otherwise not really worth it, especially if you arrive late.
Nothing - this is a scam. Booking.com should not allow BridgeStreet to be advertised. As a Genius member who has traveled extensively around the world this is highly disappointing that a reputable accommodation service, such as booking.com would allow for BridgeStreet Opera to continue.
This was a complete scam. The company lies to you and advertises in the 8th but really you are in the 10th - away from everything including where you collect you key (8th - 30 minutes by metro/ taxi). We spent 2 hours collecting the key and finding the apartment and cost Euro35 in the process. BridgeStreet said because of the incovience and changing our apartment 24 hours before we checked in (i.e. so you can't cancel without being charged the full rate) they would reimburse our taxi fare from the key collection point to the apartment. It has been 2 weeks and they have not reimbursed our 22.50 Euros even with endless emails and phone calls. We spent US$35 in phone calls trying to access the key - so not only 2 hours of our time with all of our luggage but $35 worth of phone calls. We were located near Rebublique in a tiny lounge room on a SOFA bed (this was not in the advertisement). The apartment was unmarked and clearly the other door was the owner living in (likely to be the actual bedroom) while we were in the lounge room. We purposely booked an apartment in the the 8th so we could easily visit the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Élysées etc. instead we were required to spend 1.5 hours changing metros 3 times to visit. A real waste of time. We thankfully only booked two nights and we moved into Maris district with another provider. Highly recommend Studio Maris. DO NOT BOOK BridgeStreet Opera unless you want hassle and be ripped off. Central Paris prices for the suburbs and a true hassle collecting the key (which anyone collecting a key that day could take!) You are required to call up to get the code for letter box safe - inside are 15+ other keys for other people arriving. Too bad if you traipse all the way to collect the key to realise someone has already taken it!). Highly disappointed in booking.com for allowing this scam to continue. Clearly, recent reviews confirm our experience.
Very bad location faar away from everything .. Old gost building even the stairs was broken .. U take the key from a place and the apartment is 15 min by car at lest .. V.BAAAD in everything !!
There was nothing to like! When we called the office to tell them this they offered no solutions, when we got home and complained to head office they offered us a very small refund and took on board none of our issues.
Everything!!!! Different location to one booked, old apartment, dirty, unsafe sockets, alcoholics on street outside etc etc
Bed is not comfortable , its a sofa actually. The place was not where i wznted to be.
This is a centrally located apartment just around the corner from Gare St Lizard. Don't let this put you off, because it isn't noisy, and you are five minutes from Boulevard Hausmann and ten minutes from the Opera. There are plenty of train and metro links and lots of cafés in the area. It is quiet at night so we slept well. All in all, it was a great base for sight seeing and great value for money.
The apartment was large enough, with a huge lounge/sitting room. So no complaint there. We thought it could have been a bit more cared for - the sofa springs had gone and the plates and bowls were stacked in the kitchen cupboard but they had not been washed. There is a code to get in to the apartments so it should have been secure. There was a sign up with a picture of thieves to look out for, which made our children (and us, to a certain extent) uneasy. But for the price, a good location and just what we needed for our trip. There are no staff on site.
The apartment was clean and the location proximity to the metro station was good. Within a short distance from shops, boutiques and reasonably priced restaurants. Student type area. The apartment was quiet and good for sleeping. Would recommend to anyone on a budget trip.
The accommodation was changed the day before arrival. The entrance to the apartment was a bit shabby down a back street. There were no views only internal windows to let light in. The apartment slept six however the third bedroom had no curtains or blind to block out the light whilst sleeping. The shower screen was broken in the corner.
Size of the apartment. Good furniture. Not bad kitchen facilities.
The t.v didn't work at all. The air conditioner didn't work properly because the exiting pipe from the air conditioner wasn't installed through the window. I called 3 times to the office and they promised to fix everything but they never did.
We has been very much disappointed with the apartment you provided us and which was not the one we booked! We've stayed already at some Bridgstreet . The fact they changed last minute to an absolutely dirty place is unacceptable. You should never do that - especially not with recurring customers!
Large rooms, comfortable beds and linen , Great location - close to the Metro, secure, perfect for a family of four. Lovely and quirky Parisian apartment.
Phoned Bridgestreet to ask where our apartment was located so that I could prepare for a business meeting I had early on Monday morning and when I picked up the keys on Sunday found out that we were allocated a different apartment? Cleaning lady kept coming into the room on Monday to see if we have checked out long before the time we were allowed to stay while my children were sleeping in the front room. This made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
The location was good, it had a lift. The apartment we stayed in was very new and had everything we needed.
I didn't like not knowing where we were staying until we arrived, if I knew beforehand I probably would have changed it as this apartment while lovely was not really big enough for 4 adults for 3 nights. There was not much room between the toilet and the door.
