Hotel Burdigala – MGallery Collection  

I have no problem in admitting that my wife and I seldom stay in 5 star hotels due to budgetary restraints. Those we have stayed in over the years are generally memorable, and for what you pay for, one should expect the best. However, the Burdigala is exceptional in every conceivale way and takes ones 5* hotel experience up a further notch. There seems to be nothing they have not thought of or planned to make the visitor feel pampered, welcome and respected. Hotel staff parking ones car; staff coming in to turn down the beds during the evening and leaving a chocolate on our pillows; a wine list to die for; complimentary drinks in the bedroom; a wonderful menu; serving staff who are exceptionally helpful; reception staff who could not do enough for you and go out of their way to ensure you are happy. We were only there for 2 nights, but we'll remember them for a very long time. I just wish the pension would stretch enough to enable us to visit more often.

Need to change the old carpets...also is noisy if you stay in a room with windows near the attrium.

The hotel was very comfortable and the design very modern. The staff was very helpful and nice.

I was expecting it a bit closer to the very center of the city.

I have heard that hotel was refurbished not long ago. They sure did a good job! The price , not as high as one might expect is worth it. Everything is new and working well. Room is not huge but a pretty good size. Very good quality bed, sheets, bathroom and toiletries, lights, tea/Nespresso machine, etc. Front desk is efficient and always willing to help. Breakfast is good and worth the price. Can't comment on the restaurant since we dinned downtown. It takes about 10 min walk to get to the "hot"part of town, the "triangle" and pieton area. It is a safe and pleasant walk but if walking is not your thing I guess you can easily get there by public transportation or taxi ( 3-4 minutes?). I would easily go book this hotel again.

Everything was ok but I would only mention service at breakfast which could be a bit more efficient ( take away used plats and some small details like this), but it did not compromise the whole experience.

The decor and ambiance, the cleanliness, the food, the bar staff, the foyer

It was a lovely hotel and exceeded our expectations. Even though it was a bit if a walk into town I would still stay there again. Although I ticked that the staff where excellent and most where, especially in the bar and food area(they were exceptional) it was unfortunate that some of the staff at the reception desk were often a bit impatient and slightly rude compared to the others.

We loved our duplex room and the staff were very helpful, including coming into our room multiple times to open bottles of Bordeaux wine for us :)

The location wasn't ideal as it was in a rather dodgy area of town. It was out of the city centre but not too far to walk - although not the best place to walk at night.

E truly perfect hotel with great breakfast. The suff is also perfect. The rooms are a dream.

No swinning pool

We reserved and got a large family suite on the 5th floor that exceeded our expectations. The hotel's location is a 5-6 minute walk to the city center which is very convenient for dining and shopping. Overall, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and is exactly what you would expect from a 4-5 star hotel. We will definately be back!

In room dining seemed 'over priced' and provided limited options for younger travelers (kids). However, with the hotel's proximity to the city center, there are numerous restaurants to satisfy any palate.

Toilet room was clostophobically small. Buffet breakfast was definitely not worth 23 euro per person.

I stayed twice in the hotel and the second time I think the floor was not that clean, but still very nice to stay.

A luxury hotel in the heart of Bordeaux with helpful staff and secure parking.

Expensive breakfast

Reception & valet parking on arrival excellent. Toilet seat in bathroom very loose. Basin tap in bathroom loose. Service in gourmet restaurant adequate. Food very good. Hot buffet breakfast was all cold ! An expensive stay for what is not in my opinion a 5 start hotel.

The staff were very courteous and accommodating. We had a rental car, and it was effortlessly managed when we dropped it off or needed it to be brought up front. We didn't eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on that part, but the room was very nice and well maintained.There's really no changes to recommend.

Very well situated with just a 10 minute stroll to centre of Bordeaux. Staff were extremely friendly and all spoke very good english.

Thought they were very frugal with their 1 tube of shower gel per room - per day for a 4 star hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay at burdigala. Staff were really helpful when looking for advice of places to visit,
