Poor vegetarian options

In April 2012 we were satisfied with our 3 nights there. It is a friendly, clean and modest hotel. The rooms are efficient and compact. Breakfast was alright. At 9 Euros it wasn't cheap, but you could eat until you were satisfied. There is a small selection of breads and buns, apples and bananas, cold cereals, cheese, coffee or juices, yogurt, coldcuts. The hotel was quiet enough, even though it was busy too. We would not hesitate to book there again.

It wouldn't hurt for you to brush up on your French. Nobody we met could speak English. It is located in a light-industrial park, which is on the whole isn't really bad. It's quiet in the evenings and weekends. Be sure to keep your access code with you if you're returning late. Otherwise, you won't gain access to the property. The only irritant we had was from another guest. After a brief and polite chat with another person in that party, all was well again. Some of the photos shown on the booking.com webpage for the Campanile Arras - St. Nicholas were from another location.

Able to access rooms without going into main lobby ( ie Motel style)

Good position, normal standard for this type of hotel, good food, excellent beds/bedding

As with all Camponiles this was easy to find and in an excellent position for travellers.

Just after New Year maybe an unfair comparison but we found the food disappointing and not up to the usual Camponile standard.

A very comfortable hotel with surprisingly good food. No frills but none were expected and the staff were all very friendly.

A lack of a comfort area in reception or restaurant meant that there was no place to relax and chat other than your own room.

Not easy to find.

Even though the hotel is a bit run down, we have sinced decided to stay at the Campanile hotels twice after our stay in Arras, on our drivr through northern France. They're priced ok, both cheaper and more expensive places can be found, but this hotel chain has managed to have us return.

La situation, accès facile

Le petit-déjeuner insuffisant. A 8h45 plus de baguette et pratiquement plus de choix de garnitures. La moitié des plats sur le présentoir était vides. Dommage de négliger les derniers clients du petit-déjeuner car nous étions satisfaits du logement et de l'accueil.
