Excellent value Bath
Convenience to ferry port. Open late to check in.
The room was so small the bedside cabinet had to be removed to get into the bathroom and close the door. The room decor was abit old. Not the usual standard of a Campanile.
coffee cup for the journey
slight change of menu choice
large comfortable bed , good size bathroom, kettle, good heating, friendly staff
fitments in room was good (bed and work bench with kettle etc) but the room itself was old and well used, for example skirting boards were old and had gaps where I saw a spider crawling around, walls had black marks on , we stayed in January and arrived in the dark and left early next morning in the dark to catch the ferry, without sat nav we would have found it difficult to find and also again in the morning to get back on the right road for the port, but because the bed was so comfortable I would stay there again
Staff were fantastic when I called to say car had broken down and would be there until 0130 in the morning. They had the rooms ready for access. Thank you.
We had an adjoining room - the sound proofing was so poor I could hear the snoring of the gentleman next door. It's a shame we didn't have the room beside us - we had a family of 4 (2 rooms). We in fact had 5 & 8.
This Campanile is well located when crossing either to France (afternoon boat arrives 21.30) or from France (morning boat leaves 08.30). If you like Campaniles, you will like this one; if not, not! I have had amazingly good service here in the past.
It's getting a little tired now.
Very comfortable bed, crisp clean sheets and very clean room.
It was one of the shabbiness campaniles we have ever stayed in. The whole place needs tidying up .the shower fell off the wall ,the bath tap was loose, the paintwork was beyond shabby.
tea making facilities
It was fine - just neded somewhere to stay near the ferry terminal - did the job very well
Bar and reception closed at 11pm and no night service despite saying 24/24.
Closeness to Caen Tea/ Coffee Making Facilities Helpful staff
WiFi wasn't great
Broken air conditioning, broken kettle, no soap in shower dispenser and almost empty next to wash basin. Very tired looking place needing refurbishment.
Easy access to ferry port. Many facilities nearby, Restaurants etc
room a bit cramped, only room for one bedside table. Staff looked scruffy, and seemed under pressure, not well organised. food a bit expensive for what you get(green salad meant a portion of lettice leaves only.
comfortable beds bath good location for the Ouistreham ferry
anyone over 6' 2" tall (I am 6'7") risks serious injury from the concrete supports of the first floor balcony roof Door Key is very peculiar and hard to use Staff had poor English despite website specifically advertising that English is spoken
the chef was very helpful. He guided us to the port by following his car as he had just finished a shift .The evening meal was very nice.
the exterior of this hotel is very shabby. It is difficult to find and even more difficult to reach the car ferry port because of the complexity of the road system.
friendly approachable caring staff good breakfast
no drink facilities in room 2 single beds as required but pushed together - may as well have been 1 double!
Was just a hotel in a regional city/area
Was not a resort type place
User-friendly layout of the room, very spacious and thoughtful planning. This ensured a very comfortable, hassle-free stay. Staff were lovely, making us feel very welcome, without being intrusive. The restaurant provided delicious food, everything delivered to a very high standard. Thank you.
No complaints at all but 1portion of milk per person is not always enough to enjoy your early morning cuppa. I asked for more milk for the following morning which was granted.
Staff and breakfast
Clean and comfortable
Very compact rooms
The staff member who finally booked us in and who ran the restaurant though French was most polite and affable. The meal was good, wifi I don't know about we didn't use it. It was clean and better than other hotels we stayed in in France. We did not come into contact with any other staff.
An officious staff member was on duty before the time we booked in he only spoke French which is understandable but his manner and tone was enough for us to work out he did not want to no quite rude. He was young rude and brash.
It was near the ferry terminal and some good shops
The place was run down The Starter buffet was not good. Not at all what you might expect from a Campanille The deserts were awful and little choice My husband asked for cheese and they didn't have any!!! The room and outside was in a poor condition
Convenient and easy to find from the ferry. Easy to check in after hours. For an overnight stop it was good. The restaurant was also good.
Convenient stopover for the ferry. Good parking.
WIFi difficult to access.
