Campanile La Rochelle Nord - Puilboreau Chagnolet  

The reception and restaurant staff were pleasant and helpful, as far as they could be.

Room comfort was unacceptable. The manager unreasonably ordered all air conditioning disabled despite the unseasonably hot weather. Being a typical Campanile there is no adequate ventilation when the shutters are down and the doors closed, making for very uncomfortable nights. Staff advised that the manager had been informed of the problem to customers, but refused to act. Clearly the budget is more important than client comfort. The Hotel is next to the busy N11 and extremely noisy - not too bad in the room with everything closed - but then no ventilation!! Even lifting the shutters a little results in excessive noise. The Restaurant boldly advertised a promotion of Moules - but like its counter part in Bordeaux had no stock and did not expect any for some days - La Rochelle is famed for its shell fish!!!!!

It was just about the only hotel in La Rochelle that night at a reasonable rate.

I made the mistake of going for dinner after 8.00pm. The hotel was full and the hors d'oeuvres and dessert buffets were virtually empty.

Standard Campanile type hotel - bit like Macdonalds - you know what you're going to get

Too far away from La Rochelle - only 6 miles, but as the traffic was heavy, it took us one hour to get into the town. Not very well signposted from motorway, so was hard to find.

Very clean good food

The staff was very kind and breakfast was free for the children so at the end the price was ok.

Le bruit des camions juste à côté...HORRIBLE!

La salle de bain avec baignoire bien équipée , la tv hd , internet gratuit

La chambre n'était pas" faite " avec poubelle non vidée etc...donc la chambre m' a été remplacée , mais ,sans excuse.......il y a un manque de courtoisie du personnel

Trés bon accueil. Nous avons du déjeuner sur place à notre arrivée à midi car les chambres n'étaient pas prêtes. Malgré l'autoroute qui passe pas loin, c'est un endroit calme. Les chambres sont climatisées. Le soir nous avons apprécié la bouilloire avec des infusions et du café. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Bonne prestation.

Ceci est une info concernant Booking: cet hôtel ne réceptionne ses clients qu'à partir de 14h et non 12h tel qu'il est mentionné sur la feuille de réservation. Il semblerait que Booking ne veuille pas modifier alors que l'information a déja été signalée. Nous venions de faire 600 kilomètres et nous aurions bien aimé nous reposer avant d'aller déjeuner. Bien sur, les chambres n'étaient pas prètes.

Nous avions une belle vue sur les champs avec une famille nombreuse de petits lapins sauvages,le nettoyage des vitres est à revoir...
