Good location to stop over on the way to the South of France. Laon is a really nice little town. The hotel was overall very good. Excellent value for money. We were travelling with the dog and we had no problems at Campanile. The reception opens at 8 am and we had to wait to be able to check out while we wanted to leave earlier. We thought they should have informed us about this when we checked in.

Convenient overnight stop driving south after ferry crossing. Hip bath style shower is the worst of both worlds: it is not a bath, nor a convenient walk in shower.

This little hotel is a real find, Laon itself is a very charming hilltop town, the Campanile is a few miles out from the centre and located in green fields right on the edge of a business park witha Buffallo Grill, Bowling alley and Quick burger bar in easy walking distance, not that you will need them because the restaurant is excellent and the staff very welcoming at the end of a long days drive. The secure parking, cleanliness of rooms, great breakfast and budget price make this a unbeatable choice as a stopover for journeys south.

The very varied and plentiful Breakfast buffet - excellent quality of food items and very good value for money. There was nothing not to like. Maybe it is just an English thing, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to place 2 sachets of black tea in the room, instead of one fruit tea and one black tea!!

Refreshed rooms, excellent staff who were very friendly, excellent dinner and breakfast. Nothing apart from the too firm bed, which means you have to sleep on your back.

The hotel made a good one night stop a couple of hours from Channel Ports. Dinner buffet was fine, as was the wine of the month. basic motel style hotel - OK for what it is. First room we were given was cold, two light bulbs needed replacing and the table light lampshade was broken. Second room was better but there was still a blown light bulb - showed a general lack of care.

The staff were very helpful and friendly including welcoming! We thought the bed linen being cotton was excellent as the weather was warm and anything else would have been uncomfortable. The bathroom was very clean and the tea/coffee making facilities were over and above my expectations. We used it all! My husband and I slept very well. Breakfast was comprehensive and plenty of it. We were happy with our stay. The only negative was that the walls were rather thin and we could easily hear the couple next door and a man with a loud voice!

Friendly and helpful staff and the bed was very comfortable Unfortunately we found the food in the restaurant to be pretty poor - steak very tough and chicken kebab was thigh meat (which tasted very weird) - the cheese desert option however was good. Bedroom walls paper thin - people were checking in at all times thoughout the night - next door checked in a 4.30 in the morning then promptly tried to get in to our room through the interconnecting door! On our next drive down to the Alps, we will not be staying here again.

“We stayed at the hotel as a family with 3 children and the family room was great. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and continental breakfast although they were added to the cost. The hotel was easy to find and was an exclellent place to stop on the way to Disneyland. The room was very clean and had a double bed and a seperate bedroom with 3 single beds.” Jenny, Manchester |

“The proprietor and his wife were very friendly and obliging providing omellettes which were not on the menu without hesitation . The welcome was great and with a bit of fun . I suspect the proprietor may be able to do a turn on the dance floor ! ! ! Should I visit the area again I will stay at Las Tour de Crecy which is a convenient stop over spot when visiting Alsace .” Keith, Burgess Hill |
