Excellently located for visiting the war graves of the Battle of Loos, this hotel provides comfort, excellent rates and convenience. Lens is worthwhile stop-off while visiting northwest France. Its attractions include the battlefields, La Bassee and Lens itself. The historic capital of the Pas-de-Calais coal-mining basin, Lens was completely destroyed during World War I and was rebuilt during the inter-war period. Much of the center of town was rebuilt in a particularly harmonious "Spanish-Flemish" style. Today the city is preparing for the arrival of the newest installation of the Louvre Museum. As an english traveller and not speaking any French, it was important that our main contact spoke very good english and hepled us with any issues we had. Choice of food for chidren or simple tastes was limited.

It was relatively cheap compared to others in the area. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant was ok. Hotel quite difficult to find - signposting is variable, depending on which direction you're coming from. We obviously came from the wrong direction, because it took a long while and lots of driving around an industrial estate to find the place. Photo on booking.com makes the hotel look nicer than it is. Only one extra pillow (in a double room) and no extra blankets available. Check whether breakfast is included in your rate - I assumed (from being told on check-in what time breakfast was...) that it was included and was annoyed to be charged €9 each.

Rooms are quite big + big bathroom. It was quiet although near a road with quite a lot of traffic. It was easy to find. It is outside and you have to take your car to look for a restaurant if you don´t want to eat at the hotel restaurant.

Staff do not speak english, it was very hard to explain anything. We booked 1 king size bed and standard bed which turned out to be 1 bed and rolled out some kind of a mattress on the floor, it was weird. Bathroom is very old and rusty. But for a stay of 4 hrs which we were doing it's okay.

La salle de restaurant qui ne ressemble plus aux anciens campanile (version rustique/campagnard) beaucoup plus moderne/actuel. Hotel tres facile d'acces. Dommage que la chambre n'est pas suivi un lifting comme le restaurant ... avec un chauffage plutot bruyant et qui ne chauffe pas des masses ! Concernant le restaurant n'etant pas un ogre je me souviens quand meme que le buffet semblait plus genereux/choix en entrée et en dessert ou alors faut il venir diner dans les premiers.

Accueil de grande qualité, la dame de la réception est très compétente, aimable et serviable. Tous les locaux sont d'une propreté méticuleuse et l'ambiance générale est agréable. Je conseillerai cet établissement pour les séjours à Lens ou Liévin.

Déco de la chambre, les attentions portés à la clientèle : plusieurs sachets de thé a disposition dans la chambre, presence d'une baignoire. Le bruit des pas sur le chemin en plaques de bois a l'exterieur, il faudrait à mon avis un type de sol qui absorbe les bruit. Idem pour les chambres, on entend trop les pas des chambres du dessus.
