Taxi to gare de Nord was only 11-12 euro ( after 7am not on night rates) so was not too difficult to get to the airport. Was a good location for the Marais district. I had meant to book the Campanile near the Gare De Nord for an early morning Train to cdg airport and when making the booking did not realise that this chain had 2 Paris hotels. We somehow ended up south of Paris at Campanile Bastille area with our booking and as it was non refundable I could not alter.

The location was ok and room was relatively clean. The room was awfully small for us to move , not to mention the dusty curtain. It was quite bad for us. We took a call to forfeit 2 nights prepaid and moved out to another one. We will not recommend this to anyone.

The hotel has a very good location, about 100 m to the neareast metro station Breguet-Sabin. There are some good cafes and restaurants, especially "Leon de Bruxelles". Also in this region you can find a big supermarket Casino, and every sunday and thursday there is an open-air market .

Very close to Metro 5 and 8 (maximum 3-5 mins). Metro 1 is about 10 minutes walk at Bastille. Beside the hotel there is a supermarket. Wifi was strong and good. Baggage storage. Very tiny little room, no place to put clothes except few hangers. Our room was right in front of the elevator and it was very noisy because of the guests. It was warm in the room at night and when we opened it the road work was very loud, and passing cars. You have to pay immediately when you arrive and they can issue the bill only the end of your staying.

Nothing. The hotel is overpriced. When we arrived, the staff person tried to convince us to use their shuttle service to the airport for 18 euros per person. When we said that we paid 23 euros for both of us, the attendant attempted to frighten us into using their service, citing "security" issues with the subway and carrying our luggage up and down stairs, etc. NOT the way to greet your customers. We were then asked to sign up for their breakfast for 9.50 euros, etc. Pressure, pressure. We were charged about 5 euros for two bottles of water - acceptable for hotel charges, but they could have made an allowance, given that we arrived late and could not be expected to be running around looking for water. (In Venice, a few days later, we were charged 1 euro per bottle...) Don't go to this one. Pay a little more, and you'll be happier. Sorry, Paris on this trip was it for us. Never again. Too crowded. Too commercial. To go pee in a lot of places you had to pay - as much as 2.00 euros. We are done with this city.

Hotel is in great location. 5-10 min walk from Bastille where you can get metro 1 to many Paris tourist attractions. Metro 8 (Chemin Vert station at Boulevard Beaumarchais) and metro 5 (Bréguet - Sabin station at Boulevard Richard Lenoir) are 1 min walk Room is small but very nice. No bath only shower. The shower is big and seems to be new. Hotel's continental breakfast is very good, and worth the extra price (9.5 euro). A sandwich and coffee in a brissarie cost 6-8 euro. Don't miss the big market at Boulevard Richard Lenoir (Sun. and Thu.) and the nice street flea market at Boulevard Beaumarchais (Weekends). Both are only 1 min. walk from hotel. Room is small. no closet to put clothes, only shelves and hangers (It was nicely looked to my taste) No bath only shower. Carpet had some stains and seems to be rather old. One day the room was not cleaned. Front desk lady had no explanation.

Perfect location for Paris. Even in the coldest winter days, subway stations from a walking distance. The Bastille is the Best place to stay in Paris. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Great restaurants and with some disposition, you can walk to anywhere in the city. I didn't come to become friends with the hotel staff they were very French, but very efficient, which is what is important to me. Free wifi is always a plus! Small things like room coffee and tee are very cool for winter nights! Room toiletries were my only downers. Didn't like it. But it would never stop me from staying here again.

Breakfast: was satisfactory, although had not too much variety(no eggs, only one sortiment of cheese) Super transport option: Hotel was in the middle of two different Metro lines, each 1 min. to walk. Location: Boulangeries, restaurants, supermarkts, pubs...Numerous near by attraction, very living area as well in winter season. No face towel in the rooms, only bath towels! We should ask for face and hair towels extra and they didn't like it... The noise of the street because of the near pubs. Nevertheless we slept always gut after the long Paris journeys...

Close to the metro The staff, or at least 2 of them, were embarrassingly rude. The fair haired woman at reception first took issue with making a restaurant reservation for my wife, but worse than this, having checked out I realised I had left my travel adaptor plugged into the wall in our room. When we returned that evening to collect our bags, I told a man at front desk, with round spectacles, who could not have been any less helpful or considerate. The room was clean he said with a shrug. Yes but my adaptor is plugged in under the window sill. He shrugged and gestured as if to say "I don't have it". The room may by now have been occupied but he never even suggested asking staff to look for it, or taking my postal address so that the hotel could return my property. The fair haired woman was also at the front desk, I tried in vain to see if she was a reasonable human, but through shame or sheer rudeness, she pretended that the fliers she was organising on the desk were of more interest. She would not even make eye contact. The conversation was over as far as these two clowns were concerned. I will never stay here again as a point of principle. It does not matter the monetary value of my loss. I left some of my property in our room. I knew exactly where it was. I should have been afforded some opportunity to get it back. I don't know what the black market is like in Paris for used uk to Europe travel power adaptors, but this shower must be making a killing. I can't think of any other reason as to why two individuals in the service industry would display such staggering levels of ignorance and lack of empathy with paying customers. Myself and my wife have never felt so ignored, and we will be taking our complaint further. Avoid.
