Very friendly staff and excellent location for a weekend trip; great value for money; good parking opportunities
narrow parking space for car
A nice hotel just a short walk from the centre. Having a corner room we had a view of the cathedral towers. Wifi was a bit hit and miss though and the loo a bit of a squeeze. Would definitely stay there again .
We booked this hotel very late in the day, the staff were very welcoming. The car park was secure although we had to go all round the block to access it. The staff in the restaurant were very obliging and tried to make sense of our french
Although the hotel room had been upgraded they seemed very dull and unwelcoming. The food in the dining room was not very good. We stayed at an Ibis style a couple of days before which was cheaper and much more comfortable
The hotel is well located for easy access to all major attractions, which are a five minute walk away. Large comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff.
The hotel underground car park is a bit tight.
The cathedral is a walking distance however it is not 55 meters....
Simple to reach from the motorway through Reims. It has an easily accessed underground car park. Note this may need to be booked in advance. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city center restaurants and bars.
While the rooms were clean and in a good state of decoration the beds could have been better. They were low and the matress was very hard.
The staff was wonderful from check-in, to questions regarding the area, to holding our luggage for the day after check-out. The room was clean and spacious.
No complaints. Good experience staying here.
Very convenient location easy to find secure parking very good overall
Perfect location by the canal, and good wifi
The car park was too narrow on the exit and we all scrapped our wheels getting out, which proves costly to get repaired
Central location, able to walk to cathedral and town centre. Comfortable room with a duvet.
Loud noise from the bar into the early hours.
Very good hotel - clean, excellent facilities and underground parking. Perfect location next to canal and very close to Cathedral.
Location - short walk to city centre and cathedral and also close to a park and river side paths. There was a problem with our booking on arrival but this was very quickly sorted out by the very helpful and friendly staff.
Convenient location, everything necessary for a short stay, but somewhat clostrophobic if staying longer.
Don't be late for breakfast or there will none left.
Rock hard mattress, rock hard pillow, only one coffee & one tea bag for two people & when I requested more I was refused.
Location. Cleanness. Parking nearby.
Excellent showers. Comfortable bed. Good location - a short walk away from the cathedral. A handy bar and breakfast area. Convenient parking.
Arriving at rush hour - nightmare!
We were travelling by car to Italy. This Hotel was easy to find and provided secure car parking. The main area for shops and restaurants is just a short stroll away. Very good.
Very nice staff
small parking area
(1) Location at the edge of the old city, a 10-minute walk from the cathedral, Palais de Tau museum and tourist office, and the main (pedestrian-only) shopping streets. It's three-four blocks farther to the many restaurants lining the long (and also pedestrians-only) Place Drouet d'Erlon. (2) Extremely cordial, helpful and willing reception staff. When we asked that the comforter/duvet be exchanged for a sheet they saw to it right away (although, inexplicably, the maid changed it back to a duvet the next day). Whoever was on duty immediately left the desk to unlock the security barrier to our nearby parking space when we needed it. (3) The nearby parking spaces (six Euros a night but worth it). (4) Good closet space. (5) Electric kettle plus packets of coffee, tea, sugar, creamer. We ate leisurely breakfasts in our room, with croissants we bought the afternoon before at a patisserie--so, we cannot comment on the restaurant or breakfast offerings, which cost about 8 Euros. (6) The fact that the toilet is in a separate compartment from the shower and sink. (7) The luggage rack. (8) The full length mirror. (9) The curtains completely blocked the light. (10) Comfortable mattress, nice towels. (11) Cleanliness.
The Companile is overall a great place to stay so we wonder about the following oddities. (1) Room layout with a desk but no special light and no helpful makeup mirror (a full length mirror was located elsewhere). (2) A mini fridge under the desk that was totally empty. (3) Dim bedside reading lights; one was burned out, as was an entry light in the corridor. (4) Bed had only a duvet (no sheet) for cover, and it can become too warm during the night. (See also what we did like.) (5) Lumpy pillows. (6) The shower is a real puzzle. It drains s-l-o-w-l-y so that one is soon standing in a pan almost overflowing with soapy water. The unmovable glass divider means one has to enter the shower before turning on and regulating the water, risking getting frozen or scalded. It's a mystery which control to use as there are two shower heads. It turns out that one control determines which head the water will come out of and the other controls the temperature. When turned off, the smaller shower head jumps jarringly off the hook and falls. (7) The color scheme: mostly red and black with one lime green wall; carpet with a yellowy-orange and black design, and curtains a melange of rust, orangy and gold strips. Overall: Ouch!
Good size room. Very quiet.
Close to motorway and cathedral. Clean and modern, spacious room.
I need to get a satnav.
Spacious room for 3. Comfortable beds. Quite accessible to centre.
Restaurant service a little disappointing because a large group was in. Menu choice a bit restricted.
It was conveniently placed, clean and reasonably priced.
It felt more like an economic business man's hotel than a tourist-friendly hotel.
Good location and excellent rooms.
Very poor breakfast for10 euros
