I have stayed at this hotel over the past twenty-five years. The restaurant was rennovated in April 2011. I liked the way is was before with the fireplace centerpiece and the arrangement of salad and dessert buffet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are in need of rennovation. I made an early booking and was given a room on the top floor. No waste basket or hairdryer, the front door had a gap in it to the outside, I had to search for a blanket because there was only a duvet on the bed and the temperature dropped to -3c overnight. I will not return here until the upgrade is completed, ie Saint Germaine en Laye.

We were amazed by the menu, the delicious food and the very nice staff. The room was very clean and comfortable for a short stay. From outside the hotel doesn't look special but inside it's furnished with a very good taste. The location is excellent, it is really just a few minutes from the motorway.

Easy to find and very nice staff with tea and coffee facilities in room As a solo women traveller I felt very vunerable being put at the back of the hotel on the ground floor in a motel style room it was a very dark area with large windows just felt a bit exposed to the world and not very safe. The resturant had great staff but the food was very disappointing

Campanile St. Avold is a convenient over-night stay en route for Germany (Black Forest region). Have stayed there several times before. Noted the up-dating which has taken place in the restaurant; the food we had was satisfactory for our needs at that time of day; the breakfast was good. The staff were welcoming and ready to converse in English! It is a good place to stay and would do so again.

Friendly staff. Breakfast was ok. Low quality room with little or no noise dampening. Bed was broken and propped up with a metal catering tin. No hot water in bathroom for washing or showering. Poor experience with this hotel and will not stay at this hotel again.

As usual, the staff were very friendly and professional. I was impressed with the new dining room and the new decore. This is the 4th time my wife and I have stayed at this hotel and highly recommend it. Hopefully, we will be back next year. With our thanks for the usual help from all your staff. Staff were excellent and all spoke passable English. The hotel has a modern outlook, with a very good restaurant and the rooms are equally well appointed. Late night exits from the restaurant were noisy. This will not help guests who, as in our case, needed an early night before an early start next morning. A gentle warning sign might help.

Staff very helpfull, good food location excellent easy to find from motorway, would stay there again and would recomend. Staff told us it had just had major refurb, good because they are normally very tierd and worn out inside rooms.

We booked this hotel to provide a break in the journey between southern Switzerland and Calais. The basic room price is cheap but the accomodation block has external landings and the rooms have external blinds that are not secure. Noisy when people were about, with noise starting at 06.00 hrs. Breakfast at 9 euros not worth it. There is a liddl patissery over the main road opposite and coffee making facilities in the room. The evening meal was ok in part but overdone oven fries ? Staff were helpful and friendly but would not return. St.Avold is walkable and interesting.

Convenient location for transit from Pas de Calais to SW Germany. Very helpful and friendly staff, basic but clean, good food and good value. Easy access off autoroute. Small town facilities. Lorraine American Cemetery & Memorial on West edge of town - worth visiting.
