It was a great location with a comfortable night's sleep. Our room smelt of cigarettes despite showing as a non-smoking room. The receptionist had no other rooms and offered to "perfume" the room. Instead we opted to leave the windows open and get some fresh air in. Luckily outside air temp in Oct allowed for this!

It was very convenient for the ol;d town. It was very quiet. The staff were poor and not helpful - and didn't seem interested in working at the hotel. We had an evening meal which was poor and not good value for money. Tables were not cleared quickly at breakfast - despite the fact that there were plenty of staff around.

Its price, location and friendly-staff - on a freezing weekend the fireplace in the bar area is certainly a big, big plus!! The noise (loud talking) in the dining area by the staff having dinner prior to the official dining time for the guests. Their table in the dining area was situated just next to the bar area... where we were sitting by the fire!

Easy to get to from airport, excellent location, within 2 minute walk of La Cite and 15 to New City, room and bathroom very clean (great shower), good food - excellent breakfast lots to choose from, friendly helpful staff.

It is well situated as a lovely stop over en-route to Spain for us. The location by the wall city is excellent, the parking facilities are superb and we have always found the hotel, staff and restaurant very enjoyable. We look forward to staying with the Mercure Carcassonne Porte De La Cite again and again.

My husband and I found this hotel to be wonderfu in terms of the location and the room. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast which was included in the price of the room. It held a delicious array of fresh food. The restaruant staff was exemplary - try the lunch salad where you choose your own ingredients. It is simply delicious. The hotel's location to la cité was very walkable, in fact, we walked everywhere in day and night hours to the shops in the cnetre of town and to the train station for a day trip to Toulouse.

Very good in location. We can see the old city wall through the window of our room. Only five munites reach the city gate on foot. The whole hotle just like a garden situated by the relics. Clear and everything available. Quiet and confortable. Starfs are friendly and willing to help. Parking is convenient just in the yard out of the building. We have arrived in Carcassonne by train, then taken a taxi from train station to the hotle costing 6 euros.

It was within walking distance to both the town and the old city. We had a lovely view of the city from our room. Arrived during a wine festival and were given a bottle of wine when we checked in! Nothing to really dislike, our room smelt of stale cigarettes (even though hotel is all non smoking) and waited ages for service in the bar, gave up waiting in the end as did most of the guests. But we would stay here again

The hotel was comfortable, staff helpful and professional, not unfriendly but not particularly friendly. Very close to the medieval city of Carcasonne. I stayed a second night to spend more time in the area. The hotel was comfortable and met my needs.

The ambience at this hotel was wonderful - we were greeted by a really warm welcome from reception. It is superbly located and the gardens/pool were great to relax by (blessed by good weather.) Staff were courteous and very helpful. Breakfast cost 13 euro and was superb , an evening meal from the fixed price menu was very good for 17 euro. I would certainly return to the Mercure Porte de la Cite and would recommend it to friends.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is free if you are over 60. We stayed here as we were visiting the amazing medieval city of carcassonne. The location couldn't have been better! Just a very short walk to the entrance. Would definitely return here. Nothing we didn't like.
