The Hotel Montmorency is located at the foot of Carcassonne’s walls and across from the entrance to the medieval city. It includes Wi-Fi access, a pool and a hot tub.

Directly facing the ramparts of the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Hotel Des Trois Couronnes offers a unique view of the fortress and features an indoor, heated swimming pool.
Score from 474 reviews Good
easy to find, ease of parking, very helpful and friendly staff, very comfortable bed, good shower, clean, very close to medieval city, plenty of choices for breakfast, and good quality, reasonable value evening meals too.
nothing really - this was a good choice.
A real gem! Great experience, great staff, very comfortable room and excellent location so close to old town. 10 on 10
Kettle in room Good parking
Bed quite hard for me Stairs on your floor which was quite difficult when getting out of the lifts with heavy cases and having to man-handle them up a few steps to go further down the corridor to our room
Right by the walls and entrance to the medival city
Difficult to find the entrance to the hotel at first
Location, parking. Breakfast is a bit pricy (£12) but was plenty of choice, and we didn't really need lunch!
Hotel claims to be 4 star - but rooms are a bit small and are nothing special. However for one night, and for the price we paid it was fine.
Location and price were good
The staff - not welcoming. Totally ignored us in restaurant. Offputting.
The hotel is just outside the walls, within a short walking distance. We were given an upgrade, the room was very good, with views over cascassone. The hotel staff was extremely kind. Excellent value for the money.
Cleanliness. Food @friendly staff
The bedrooms could do with a bit of updating but overall they were good
The location was perfect for what we wanted. The hotel was clean and comfortable
Had to wait for a large group to check out so we didn't get checked in until just before 5pm
Atmosphere, modern facilities. Nice modern restaurant, and nice food. Close to castle and city centre. Got my zen back after staying in some horrific hotels from Geneva to Carcassone.
Air conditioning stopped at night several times and it was very hot and stuffy.
The hotel is in a great location and very close to the Cite. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were well appointed with great bathrooms and enough space
Not much. The room smelt of smoke a bit.
Very good restaurant where we enjoyed an excellent dinner with wine. If you wish to see the ancient La Cite then this hotel could hardly be better situated- a very short walk form the Cite walls.
The location and the restaurant
The room was very small. In the bathroom there were no shelves for toiletries.
Very comfortable room. Spotlessly clean with French windows to garden. Great breakfast with plenty of food variety. Good location to le Cite.
Only 1 person on reception, resulty in lengthy wait checking in. Also problem ordering taxi on return to airport. Very late arriving.
Location Dinner & bar - good price and lovely food. Staff - very attentive spoke English. Clean/modern. Parking - free
Breakfast expensive for what you got.
I booked this hotel for one night to explore Carcassonne. The location was perfect, the free parking was a great plus and the room was very clean comfortable with a lovely view over the garden to the old City. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant but would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Carcassonne .
The restaurant offered mediocre service and choice of food.
Had view of the fortified city. Room was nice, but way too small. Grounds were very nice.
Room way too small for 2 people.
Location was good for walking into the cite. Free parking, some of the staff were lovely.
Staff could be a little abrupt n the phone I called down for an iron and ironing board and they said yes they had one and put the phone down I assumed one was being bought up but they still hadn't come an hour later so I called again and the person on reception said yes in reception I had to go and collect it myself. We also came back on sunday and wanted to order some food and they only operated from lunchtime to 2pm then 7pm to 10pm there was no where where you could buy a snack or packet of crisps. very small window in the room and a yappy dog in the room near us.
Location to old city was excellent, but this meant it was a fair hike to the town. Taxis were few and cost around 12 euros. The restaurant food was superb, 20 euros for set meal and it was easily the best meal we had during our 4day stay. It was a pity we were put off by the wine list displayed outside, which was very expensive. However, they had a much more reasonable wine list inside. We would definitely stay here again.
Towels were very thin, no glass tumblers provided, only flimsy plastic ones. No safe in our room, though some of the standard rooms had them. Carpets a little shabby.
Nice clean, quiet & comfortable hotel a short walking distance to the old town. Staff is excellent. The room was big with a king bed. The bathroom was also nice & big with a good shower. Breakfast buffet was very good but a little pricey.
Everything was good; no complaints.
Location - 5 minutes walk from the walled city. Good size room and way comfortable bed. Peaceful.
Only there one night so did not have time to try out all the facilities.
The location is truly great with free parking. You can see the castle walls many of the rooms and from the pool. Within a 5 minute walk your at the main entrance to the old city. The rooms are nice, comfortable and clean.
The staff. The lady at Check-in was lovely and quick. Other than that, I was not happy with any of the staff. We travelled all over Provence for a week and this was day 8. The other places we stayed were apartments and 2 to 3 star hotels. This was the one "4 Star" hotel that was booked. In the early evening, after a run, I waited in line behind only one lady who was been served. After standing there sweaty for 10 minutes and not being acknowledged I decided to go to my room to call down. I simply wanted a bottle opener and 4 wine glasses for a pre dinner drink. The girl and the front desk rudely told me that there is no room service and that I would have to come down to get the glasses. I was shocked that at a 4 star Mercure hotel there was no room service. I went downstairs, she was still with the same lady, probably about 15 minutes or more. There was now another man in line so I had to wait for him to check-in before she finally helped me. I told her I had called down simply asking for a bottle opener she rudely told me that she can't help me and to go the bar. I could have saved 25 mins of evening had she looked at me rather than ignore her customers. When I went to the bar, the man was nice enough; however he gave me the glasses but not the opener because he only apparently had one. So, I had to return to my room, retrieve the bottle and carry it through the hotel once he opened it for me. It's not the end of the world, but considering that this was not an issue in the budget places I stayed in small town across Provence, I did not think opening a bottle of wine would take over 30 minutes! At check-out the man was abrupt and unfriendly. I would stay here again simply because of the hotel, but the staff is nothing like I've experienced at other Mercure Hote's around the world. A side note, I'm also fluent in French so there was no language barriers whatsoever. Sorry for my rant!
