Our room on the 3rd floor was large and elegantly decorated, with high ceilings, watercolours, and pretty furniture. The bed was comfortable and big, and through the big French windows we had an incredible view over the square, especially the neoclassical opera. Despite the central location it was surprisingly quiet. The bathroom was small but functional and dominated by a large bath. Would love to visit again. There was a faint lingering smell of smoke when we arrived, but opening the windows for a few minutes saw it off.

Wonderful location. Room overlooked the Opera House and could walk anywhere. Only 15 minute walk to get the Eurostar train. Traffic noise was muted by secondary glazing. Nice size room. Good big bed. Helpful reception staff. Very meagre supply of coffee and tea each day 2 bags/sachets of each per day. Two dead light bulbs in bathroom. Curtains were hanging off the hooks in places. Noise travelled really badly from interconnecting door with room next door. Could hear the conversation of occupants and their TV! Price of breakfast was 19 euros each. Not value for money, so did not take it up. Some very nice cafes nearby offered much better value for 5-10 euros each.

I have stayed here three times and on every occasion my visit has been very comfortable and good value for money given the central city location. Best of all are the staff who are warm, friendly, concientious and who seem to genuinely want everybody's visit to be a special one. I cannot recommend this hotel too highly

Having stayed at this hotel previously we decided to make it the hotel of choice for our Chritmas holiday in 2011. No complaints as all was superb, again.

A very convenient central location - we visited Lille with friends to go to the Christmas market. We travelled by Eurostar so all very easy being able to walk to the hotel from the rail station. We were also close to the Christmas market and a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel bar prices were an absolute rip off......

It used to be a luxury hotel, but now it's quite worn. Still with charm, though.

The Location.Convienence for the city centre and closeness to family. The rooms are quiet and of a good size. The tea and coffee making facilities are welcome. There is a lift for which not all hotels have. Good choise for breakfast. The 'health suite' is nice to have but we did not use it this time. Parking facility. Different types of 'packages' available eg bed, bed and breakfast etc. The cost of breakfast was the same for what ever you ate.If you only want a continental style breakfast I thought the cost was a bit high. Cost of parking a bit high.

The staff that I encounteded were very pleasant. The rating of this hotel should seriously be reviewed, my room was not cleaned very well and I felt uncomfortable sleeping in there. Paint work was chipped, some wood work was rotten and hairs were all over the place from previous guests - I didn't dare look under the bed. Not pretty.

Great Location right in the city centre We last stayed in this hotel 20 years ago, and it was looking tired then. It appears that nothing has been done to it since. I really don't understand how this hotel is rated as 4 star.

Comfort and spaciousness of rooms. Cleanliness, especially of bathroom and provision of dressing-gowns and slippers. Provision of tea and coffee making facilities, not usual in our experience in continental hotels and much appreciated. Helpful staff, dealing with left luggage on final morning after check-out. Pleasant breakfast-room. Central location also very important.

Room of the hotel big. Earlier it was two-room number, then it was divided, and the door remained isn't locked. In the evening from the next number the neigbour has started to look on us. Very strange! A bathroom inconvenient. On a bathroom there are no curtains and all water flows extensively. In a toilet hardly it is possible to turn.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean and situated wonderfully for restaurants and shops etc. It took us an hour to find the hotel and then it was difficult to stop in a one way street. However, once we had stopped in the street the hotel staff were very helpful.
