Hotel Carlton    

The staff were very friendly and helpful

Only issue was the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night

The hotel carlton is perfectly situated in the old town only ten min walk from euro train station it has perfect veiws looking on to the square with many restraunts and cafe close by and much more.

The room. It was big and comfy

The bathroom which had some stains on the wall. The bath is small for 2 ans could be replaced with an italian shower for instance

Hotel Bar was very poor, after first night had no GIN left, would not go out and replenish, finished up having minature bottles which should have been for the Room Fridges. This was a downside.

on this occasion went on a sunday night and shortage of staff meant car was not taken to car park until next morning and we still had to pay 19 euros for a few hours. there was a mistake with rooms, had booked 3 next to each other and had even phoned to confirm but on arrival found one room was on next floor !.. receptionist found room on same floor but child's cot was left in other room. when found no blankets on it, had to use our own.Slippers advertised were not there apparently had not been delivered ! very cold wooden floors ! Not standard expected for 4 stars expensive hotel !

It has a sense of grandeur whilst maintaining a friendly atmosphere. Parking is so convenient and the staff are always very helpful. We have stayed for the last three years for the Christmas Fair and hope to go again next year

Location and style

Rather tired decor - noise in the room from plumbing and drainage and machinery which we believed to be heating system or laundry!!

Its in a fantastic position. its just a shoert walk to the railway station. the staff were very helpful The facilities were really very good

The staff were very helpful and friendly. For a city hotel the room was fine as we had booked de luxe twins. One room was much bigger than the other but this was fine. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of choices and all were well prepared.

The only drawback was the bar area. This is just off Reception and not convivial for a drink. It was closed very early too.

Terrible bed.... we both ended up with chronic back ache. No iron available so got charged for staff to iron 2 shirts. Not enough tea/coffee refreshment available in the room. Room not as luxurious as advertised.

overall okay but #1 there are mosquitos.. i got biten. #2 fridge door is broken,

The only good thing about this hotel is its location.

do not believe this should be a 4 star hotel. the hotel was worn and quite shabby. It said in the description that parking was available on site. When we got there we were given a map of where the carpark was. It was about 700 meters away. Trying to find it in Lille's one way system took us about 45 mins. We were not impressed with this hotel at all and will definetely not stay there again. Very overpriced for an old and worn hotel. The breakfast at 19 Euro was not worth the money either.

Great staff, very welcoming and helpful, clean, good sized room, good facilities. Very pleasant stay.

No restaurant, bit hard to get to if driving as it's right in the very centre and very crowded.

Our room on the 3rd floor was large and elegantly decorated, with high ceilings, watercolours, and pretty furniture. The bed was comfortable and big, and through the big French windows we had an incredible view over the square, especially the neoclassical opera. Despite the central location it was surprisingly quiet. The bathroom was small but functional and dominated by a large bath. Would love to visit again.

There was a faint lingering smell of smoke when we arrived, but opening the windows for a few minutes saw it off.

Wonderful location. Room overlooked the Opera House and could walk anywhere. Only 15 minute walk to get the Eurostar train. Traffic noise was muted by secondary glazing. Nice size room. Good big bed. Helpful reception staff.

Very meagre supply of coffee and tea each day 2 bags/sachets of each per day. Two dead light bulbs in bathroom. Curtains were hanging off the hooks in places. Noise travelled really badly from interconnecting door with room next door. Could hear the conversation of occupants and their TV! Price of breakfast was 19 euros each. Not value for money, so did not take it up. Some very nice cafes nearby offered much better value for 5-10 euros each.

Het was een vriendelijk hotel en zeer goed gelegen. Meteen de hele uitleg van wat er te zien is in Lille.

De kamer en badkamer een beetje verouderd.

de n'avoir les chambres disponibles qu'a partir de 15h

De ligging van het hotel is uitstekend!

De badkamer is nogal gedateerd en het ontbijt kun je beter buiten de deur gebruiken.
