Welcome from Bruno the owner of the hotel. Beautiful bedroom, well presented and beautifully decorated Good breakfast included in room rate Easy access by car
Nothing not to like
Beautiful suite in a unique property. The owner, Bruno was very welcoming and very helpful. A very pleasant stay!
The bed and pillows weren't as comfortable as they might have been
Lovely chateau (ask the owner about it's history). Fabulous decor, clean, comfortable with a decent breakfast. Nice park all around, but we didn't try the pool. Twenty minutes walk to town along road and footpaths. Excellent centre for sightseeing.
Searching hard for something to criticise... the loo made a bit of noise which could be heard when flushed at night.
Great host, spotlessly clean, general ambience of antiquity, excellent advice about local area
Could have done with a few more personal comfort amenities
Amazing place to stay! Beautiful house and amazing rooms. Host is very kind and welcoming.
Nothing at all.
The Owner was a fantastic host, charming, very attentive and helpful. And, the hotel itself was magnificent. A wonderful experience.
Nothing to dislike
Friendly owner. Nice big room and bathroom, recently decorated. Breakfast included in price.
Had to phone to get let in the gates as they were closed and no answer on intercom.
From the warm greeting to the checkout, it was a privilege to share such a grand and historic building. Excellent value for money for such an experience - large comfortable rooms, pretty grounds and a good location within a short drive or a moderate walk of central Saumur
Loved all the rooms and furniture. Good breakfast, very friendly staff.
The decor was quirky and unusual but it worked for the type of hotel. The rooms were very large, airy and well furnished. Breakfast was good and the hotel was quiet. The owner was very helpful and spoke very good English.
Wonderful glasshouse attached to the house. Impressive staircase. Huge rooms.
Location Rooms Breakfast Gardens and surroundings
This is a standalone chateau with a big park. Very romantic place. There is a real atmosphere of old chateau. It is a quiet area close to a river. The management is very polite and helpful. I got a ride in an owner’s car to get a center of Saumur. I liked that when I arrived before check-in time my room was already prepared and I was able to get it.
It would be good if rooms had fridges.
All the castle......
I don't like the moment when I go.....
Bruno made us feel very welcome. Excellent suggestion for our evening meal, one of our best we had in Europe. Slept like a log.
The toilet in the cupboard was a little small if you were 6foot tall or larger. A little expensive for what we got.
The room was fabulous. Absolutely spotless and huge. Bathroom amazing and so much room. We had lovely breakfasts with delicious bread and croissants. A lovely warm welcome from a friendly and helpful host. The whole building and grounds are quirky, interesting, extremely comfortable and we would love to return.
Beautiful place, quite and relaxing.
Not enough pillows. Also difficult to find anyone to speak to about ordering a taxi etc.
everything about this very homely wonderful building Bruno the owner was very friendly helpful, and looked after us very well, we would love to return to this unique chateau next year.
personally we would prefer a two way lock on the bedroom door.
Delicious breakfast very friendly and helpful great location
This chateau is a short drive (10 mins max) from the centre of Saumur. It is set in a quiet residential area but feels like it's in the middle of the French countryside. Bruno, the owner, speaks fluent English has restored and furnished the Chateau to its original plendour. Bruno's Our room was large and opulently furnished with a patio door that opened into the orangery. The mature gardens have a number of hidden gems. The ample breakfast included fresh fruit, Yoghurt, juice, bread and pastries. This was a most relaxing stay, I only wish I'd booked longer than one night.
nothing to dislike, we were made to feel very welcome.
Bruno the owner was more than an excellent host, he carried our bags, gave us a fan and fridge and was so helpful on local restaurants and places of interest
The Chateau was just as it looks in the photos. The grounds were lovely with lots of trees and flowers. The town is a short distance away by car and is picturesque.
Enormous rooms Impressive grounds
Distance from centre of town Stale coffee for breakfast
The room is extremely large，clean，and romantic classically. Besides，the private parking space is free.
