We stayed for 8 nights and were really sad to leave. The only sound at night was an occasional owl! We arrived late afternoon and Marie Christine offered to cook us a meal that evening which was very welcome (and better than any we had in Salies). She is an excellent host and full of information about local sights, markets, etc. As we were the only guests for 7 of the nights, we enjoyed many long chats over breakfast and dinner about culture, society, politics, language and much else! Marie Christine has good English, but we spoke mainly in French. The house is 18th century and in a huge garden that is full of unusual trees. We found many interesting sites to visit within easy reach and very few other tourists.
Lovely proprietress. Nothing too much trouble. She even rang us in our car as we were struggling to find the location and she made a 10 minute drive to where we had parked and guided us back to her home. We did not really want to venture out in the evening and she rustled up a lovely evening meal with about an hour's notice.
It was difficult to find as the Sat Nav system in the car did not recognise the address.
