We can certainly recommend this b&b. Our room was bright, modern and very clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and Carol was absolutely fantastic. She was very helpful suggesting places to visit and having time to chat with us and other guests. The location is brilliant! You feel as though you are out in the country although only you are only a short walk to the medieval city.
The bed was really comfortable, the pool was refreshing, the view to the castle was excellent especially at night. The owners were friendly and very helpful.
Carol was great she helped us with places to go and visit and her English was very good .The breakfast was good and very relaxing the room was lovely and had open view across field .
great spacious room, very comfortable bed with soft pillows and black-out shutters so we slept exceptionally well. Room faced south so hot in the afternoon sun but easily cooled with the aircon. Really quiet location with no traffic noise despite being within easy walking distance of the old city and the newer town. Very good breakfast and Carole was very helpful with recommendations of where to eat, taxi and restaurant bookings. Plenty of places to sit out and nice pool.
Carole gave us a very friendly welcome and was extremely helpful with booking restaurants for us and making recommendations. She provided a local map which helped us find our way around on foot. The breakfasts were very nice with plenty of fresh coffee offered. The room was very comfortable and airy with a nice en-suite and private access to the rear garden and pool (though we did not get around to using the pool). We were allowed to leave our hire car within the grounds after we checked out until we were ready to leave for the airport.
Nothing! If anything, leaving the lovely location and sunshine behind :-)
Location and availability of pool. Carol was very helpful.
Our room had no patio access and would benefit from a proper shower.
Loved everything about this stay, especially my wonderful host, beautiful setting, quiet area, and delightful bedroom! I will be going back!
A perfect location for Carcassonne. Carol was very helpful and friendly, the room was of a really high standard and the breakfast was really great - including lovely fresh coffee and local cheeses
Nothing, however always nice to have a small lounge area for evening drinks during cooler evenings
A lovely quiet location close to river and parkland between the medieval citadel and the town of Carcassonne with lovely views of the citadel. 5/10 minute walk uphill to the citadel and 10/15 minute walk to the centre of town, station and Canal du Mide. Nice garden with pool. Good continental breakfast with cereal, all beautifully presented. Carol was friendly and helpful. One tip, if walking back in the dark in the evening after a meal, as we did a torch is very useful as the lane leading down to Les Palmiers has no lighting and in September it was dark by 8 pm.
Nothing, except perhaps a curtain on the bath so that the shower didn't soak the floor of the bathroom would be a good idea.
Very friendly hostess, Carol. Many little extras
Difficult to find but Carol rescued us from downtown!
Cannot recommend this highly enough. Carole is the hostess with the mostest, even picking us up from the airport. The accommodation is spotless and spacious. Breakfast is served on the terrace and is such a stunning location - near to the city but so peaceful next to the river. Carole recommended restaurants and gave us lots of helpful tips. The swimming pool was a treat after a long day sightseeing. Sitting on our own terrace with a glass of wine was heaven. Could have stayed much longer. It was an honour to share Carole's home.
Even someone extremely picky could not find fault here.
The hospitality we received from Carole was wonderful, a personal service in a fantastic location. There are some great places to eat and drink very close by and there is so much to see and do. Our two year old loved the hotel and garden and enjoyed exploring the cite and the town. She especially liked the near-by parks! The proximity to the river meant we had some lovely relaxing walks and the friendliness of everyone we encountered was refreshing and heart warming. Chambres d'hôtes Les Palmiers de la Cité was a perfect base for a perfect break and we have already recommended it to various friends and family.
Very friendly hostess and secure parking
everything, wonderful hostess(CAROL) lovely location, only a short walk to the Cite and village.Lovely room, and french breakfast. Also very nice cat in residence.
The countryside ambience but within easy walking distance of both La Cité and the bastide.
Like so many B and B's in France it was a little tricky to find.
We loved the situation of the B&B.Our host Carole went 'the extra mile' for us....recommending places to eat and visit. She always took time to sit and talk to all her guests and was very helpful booking us taxis and even chauffering us to the airport when the taxi drivers had a conference..Nothing was too much trouble for her.
Nothing really apart from the pool steps were a bit shaky but I know Carole has plans for renovating this area as soon as she can.......would love to return.
Rooms were very clean, nice roomy bathroom. Innkeeper multi lingual, helpful. Good breakfast. Free parking inside locked gate. Walking distance to the fortress.
No air conditioning or fan. Had to leave the windows open and deal with a few rogue mosquitoes.
Carol was a superb host with lots of advise and information. Every morning the abundant breakfast was served with a smile and set us up nicely for a day exploring the surrounsings. The room was spacious and clean and had everyhting you need for a comfortable stay.
Hospitality and service of owner Location Quality of accommodation Friendliness and welcoming Pander to every need or whim of visitors if possible Kindness
Hostess, location to historical center, breakfast, our room, as well as, the house itself with its views and the garden, restaurant recommendations from the hostess.
Nothing. Our stay has been perfect.
The location was wonderful with view of the old city. Carol was very friendly and helpful. Our room very clean and comfortable.
Carole was a charming host, breakfast on the terrace was like dining with friends. Very relaxing
I would have liked toiletries to have been provided without having to ask. It would have been good to have had parasols around the pool for shade.
Excellent, host, Great location Good breakfast.
What can we say? A wonderful hidden oasis within striking distance to the breathtaking ramparts of the cit`e de Carcassonne. We would go as far as to say that you will not find anything better from a B&B in terms of location to Cit`e, town centre and markets. It is close to a communal park for picnics and two small playgrounds. Within walking distance to train station and public bus, canal trips and shops. The owner Carole is a wonderful hostess..nothing is too much trouble for her. She works hard to ensure that your stay is comfortable. Rooms are spotless. The Garden is beautiful. The breakfast consisted of cereal, warm croissants, fresh bread, pain au chocolat and local made jams. Fresh orange and coffee were plentiful. We would certainly recommend this B&B to anyone. Having read some of the comments made prior to our visit we can only say that we feel that these people must of though that they were booking into a hotel!!!! Its a B&B and for the money paid for accommodation alone was more than reasonable. If you don't like the breakfast then perhaps a self catering property may of been a better choice. We will be returning to Carcassonne and definitely rebooking at this lovely abode. See you soon Carole. Thank you once again for one of the best short breaks we have ever had.
Carole, the owner was so lovely, helpful and friendly. B&B was clean and tidy, breakfast delicious and the pool divine
