Stunning view of the Cathedral and excellent location
Loved it all !
We were the only people staying. Manager gave us a choice of rooms although we stuck with the one we had reserved. Steep climb up the spiral staircase to the room was well worth it. The knight in reception was a little creepy when returning in the dark in the early hours. Breakfast was for us on demand from the friendly host. Overall a great experience.
Location- while right in the heart of the city and close to everything, so you have to park 4 or more blocks away ...and tote all your luggage on foot. The building is awesome, the rooms fantastic but our room was up a tiny spiral staircase..kinda tricky.

The location was fantastic - a bit tricky to find but once there, it was right in the middle of everything & a stone's throw from all the sights. Loved being able to walk everywhere or pop back for a cuppa and drop purchases 'home'. A privilege to share this extraordinary home. Loved every minute.
Nothing really. It was amazing. Perhaps there could be softer towels (they'd benefit from a tumble dryer for 5 minutes) and some moisturizer but small things.
We had a beautiful room with a view across the rooftops to St. Cecile Cathedral, which was beautifully lit at night. A very comfortable bed in an interesting, quiet and unusual room and our charming host Bertrand made for a great two night stay in Albi.
This is not a dislike , but rather a caution to visitors: there is no car access to the center of town so you must, despite Booking.com's driving instructions, park your car in the far end of the public parking lot and lug your bags some distance to the entrance of the Chambre d'Hote. Also there are some awkward steps at the entrance up to the elavator.
The location was excellent though difficult to find first off, just across the road to the cathedral. The building is very old and beautifully furnished. The host was charming and very helpful, I would have liked to stay longer but alas!
My wife is pretty particular, but arriving at the room she made me leave the bags in the hall so we could take pictures of the uncluttered room. This property is the home of the proprietor where he grew up and he is an interesting character.
Parking was off-site. Breakfast was minimal, but worth the stay.
Hotel Location Friendliness (and personalities) of Staff Breakfast Homely feel Room Size and furnishings
spacious, spotlessly clean, fascinating old house with beautiful furniture and courteous friendly patron. The best place we staying in on our holiday would go back
not easy to find, need better directions.
Unique room with period furnishings and tapestries and great view. Typical continental breakfast. Outstanding location Ancestral home of present owner
A truly lovely little B&B. We stayed in one of about 3 of the tower rooms. Very special space with wonderful views over the cathedral. Centrally located in Albi - tucked away on a busy tourist street but once you are in the apartment, it's really very quiet. Our host was also exceedingly charming and served us a beautifully presented and delicious continental breakfast. The space was both elegant and very comfortable. We would certainly go back again! Also, considering it all, a really terrific value!
One caveat (which didn't bother us), as others have reported, the stairs to the tower rooms are very narrow and steep. We left most of our luggage below and took only what we needed for the night!
Location and host tremendous
Wifi only available in breakfast room, not in rooms.
Bertrand the owner is very welcoming and encouraged us to feel "at home" during our stay. Location particularly good, close to the cathedral.
1)The accommodations exceeded our expectations 2) The owner (Bertrand) was a very kind and hospitable host 3) The location is incredibly central - Cathedral and Musée Toulouse-Lautrec are around the corner
1) Leaving :) 2) parking was a short walk away - but totally acceptable once we got used to it
warm welcome; nothing was too much trouble; exceptional antiques, books, quality of design and furnishings, and wonderfully tasty croissants in the morning
Perfectly located near to the cathedral, museum and shopping in the center of the city, this accommodation boasts an antique-filled ambience with a delightful host who can manage a bit of English. Rooms in the medieval tower are accessed by narrow circular steps, but are large, furnished nicely and offer ultra-modern plumbing. The best choice in Albi.
The owner was away while I stayed here. Despite this, I was treated warmly by staff. I loved my room (Toulouse-Lautrec) and the incredible view of the Cathedral. I took a great bicycle tour of the old part of town and loved it. Albi is a great place and I would love to return as a tourist to spend more time here.
We loved staying in this beautiful B&B. Our elegant, large suite was comfortable and well appointed, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful old books and prints that surrounded us. The location was superb -- right in the centre of historic Albi.
Once found, the location was central to the city. The bed was good.
The owner was very difficult to work with. Would not accept any of three different charge cards and insisted on cash. The location was very difficult to find and after over 45 minutes of driving around the city finally located it with the assistance of the visitors bureau. No parking available near by and bags had to be hauled several blocks. Parking in a city garage at additional costs should have been disclosed as well as directions to his building. Upon arrival the smell was so bad we almost did not go inside. A bag of feces was left in front of his gate which we had to step over. Breakfast consisted of a single croissant and instant coffee. I would never recommend this place. We traveled all over France for two weeks and never had one bad experience except for this location. If you choose to use it , get directions, parking instructions, payment understanding all in advance.
Beautiful room, clean, nicely decorated, shower was good, ground floor room had small view of Cathedral….
Hard to find…need to give more specific directions for foreign travelers to go to St. Clair, offload luggage, then find the alleyway, then park in public garage near the Cathedral….spent too long looking for the address…very frustrating…..
We had an amazing stay in the most beautiful room imaginable.Bertrand was a wonderful and amusing host.We have already recommended the hotel to our friends. We will definitely try to make another trip to Albi and Bertrand's hotel.PS Bertrand insisted on taking us to the train station on our departure and waited to wave us off.
The location, close to all amenities, restaurants, bars, cafes, markets, and the magnificent cathedral. The charming host, Bertrand, who drove us to the railway station upon our departure and the guest house in general which contains a lot of antique furniture and is very pleasing on the eye
Host very funny, kind and accommodating.
Central location to cathedral and Latrec museum.
Hard to find it: parking is 400meters away; entrance was dirty;'w ouldn't recommend it especially for older guests as you have to tote your luggage such a long distance.
This is a unique place to stay if you are visiting Albi, it is situated just off the main Cathedral square in a pedestrian area, very discreetly tucked away behind iron gates (lots of parking nearby if you are coming by car) and key pad entry. There are only 4 rooms and all are delightful. We stayed in the Suite - which has a lovely large sitting room (and extra beds if you have a family). Don't expect anything other than French tv and wifi is a bit erratic, but this is a small price to pay to stay in the owner's home - Bertrand met us each morning with a friendly and mischievious welcome, serving a simple French breakfast of fresh bread/croissants and delicious preserves and coffee or tea and yoghurt. We actually stayed here for a week and used it as a very relaxing place to return to after a busy day out so we were met each morning with guests who were passing through, from every corner of the earth. Bertrand is a perfect host and does his utmost to please. It really does feel as though you are a guest in his home, it is exquisitely furnished with taste and style. A very special place indeed and highly recommended. Bertrand also supplies free tickets to the Toulouse Lautrec Museum which is a bonus.
