You need to be reasonably fit to negotiate the narrow, stone spiral staircase to upper rooms with bags. Unfortunately there were some problems during the time of our stay as the owner had been taken ill just before our arrival. However, family and friends were very helpful. Breakfast was nice but choice was limited, as others have stated. The room was quite dusty and was not serviced during our 3 night stay, however, we did not have the chance to raise this with the owner at the time. As this was in the top price bracket of places to stay in Albi, for the service we received we felt it was overpriced.
Our stay was interesting and unique, a fascinating building full of character in the centre of Albi, only a short walk to all the sights and restaurants. The Toulouse-Lautrec room was comfortable and quiet with lovely views of the cathedral over the rooftops. We were given complementary tickets to the Toulouse-Lautrec museum.
