We were made to feel comfortable from the start to our last day. We were close to everything and when we wanted to rent a car, our host arranged it for us and it was only a few blocks to pick up the car and later to return it. Highly recommend it.
The room upstairs was a little too warm, which was easily adjusted, and the slanted roof was a little bit of a problem. But each of the issues were not insurmountable considering everything else was wonderful.
location; friendly, helpful staff; made us feel it was our home for our stay; location - near places to eat and short drive to D-Day sites; parking was available off the street; breakfast offered numerous choices - all very good; location; wi-fi that worked
Very Clean Great Kitchen facility Refrigerator in Room Great Room with Sitting Area Modern Bath Plenty of Electric outlets Wi-fi Excellent (Free) Very Secure Staff very responsive
Small stairs to room
Fab location minutes from Tapestry, cathedral and shops Comfy bed and nice sized bathroom for France Onsite parking
Pet smells and musty room Cluttered kitchen with no seating for meals Limited choices for breakfast seemed to indicate cost cutting is a priority
Miriam was a great host and her children, who work there, were very helpful! Lovely garden area to sit back and have a bottle (or 2) of wine to relax! Great location!
Was very comfortable and good location.
The room temperature was a little warm.
Liked it all. Miriam and Pierre were great hosts!! Beautiful B&B in a quaint city. Great location to access local activities at night and to tour DDay locations during the day. Would definitely stay again.
We could walk to everything in town. Such an interesting town and wonderful restaurants. Nice breakfast, very acomadating oldest son made you feel part of family Would definitely recommend
Loved the convenience to everything we needed to do. The family were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good
The ambience and the morning crepes.
The family! They do everything and are wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was great! Very relaxing!
Can't thing of a thing.
The bed and breakfast is in a perfect location for the city, tapestry and cathedral...all a 5 minute walk. The large outdoor table with canopy offers a place to enjoy a snack or "dinner at home"however, this attracts the family animals..2 cats and 2 dogs who were harmless The innkeepers are wonderful people and very accommodating. Upon arrival we scraped a flower pot and Pierre immediately used polish to remove the paint from our rental car. Pierre also made his personal cell phone available to me to make a Paris reservation...Merci beaucoup Pierre! If you are on a budget and want a quiet, simple inn then this is your place.
The accommodations are simple and in need of some tender love and care (paint). Our room was on the top floor and we loved the fan but the tiny winding staircase was challenging with large luggage. The floors were dirty as I discovered when walking bare foot but the bathroom was clean and the large armoire was pretty and small refrigerator helped. Good bedside lighting for reading also was appreciated. The breakfast was scramble eggs(from the chickens on property), one type of cheese, bread, croissants, crepes and homemade apple jam. Bananas and corn flakes were also available. By our third day, the breakfast had not changed and could be helped with some meat, different cheese and different bread.
The only good thing about the Villa Aggarthi is it's location close to the centre of Bayeux. The garden is also nice but overgrown.
This place is very overpriced for what is extremely basic accommodation. The room my husband and I stayed in on the ground floor was very poorly decorated, obviously a long time ago. The ceiling had large cracks on it, the paint work was scraped and chipped, the door handles to the room and to the on suite bathroom (which had no shampoo or shower gel) were very loose and at risk of falling off. It was a very grubby room and to make things worse we found 2 huge spiders in the room! If you are an arachnophobe I would strongly advise against staying here! Strangely there was also a fridge in the room next to the bed which randomly made lots of noise during the night. The floors above creaked noisily as did the stairs whenever the other guests walked around. Breakfast was unsurprisingly very poor consisting basically of chunks of baguette, some unappealing, unidentifiable preserve, a few slices of processed cheese and some plain crepes, there was no jam, no honey, no different cheeses, no meats, no yogurt. During our 3 week trip in France this was the most expensive (160 Euros) and worst place we stayed in. We stayed in many other places for less than half the price which were much nicer, friendlier and had better breakfast. We would advise against staying here, it would be a waste of your money and there appears to be much nicer places available in Bayeux.
Pretty run down and not very clean
Nice secluded outdoor spaces
Too many cats, dogs and their droppings. Grounds somewhat overgrown.
The garden was good for the children but a bit neglected in places.
The decor and rooms were tired and dated.
Animal fouling on the path
Location, Friendly & helpful Staff, Comfortable Accomodation, Garden, Breakfast, Off road parking - you have to leave your key so the cars may be swapped if needed. Fantastic for Bayeux - you dont need to drive, D Day beaches and Musees.
Some Dog poo on paths and in garden! Very hot weather was lovely but rooms needed fans to get a good nights sleep. Nit picking really!
Delightful garden, warm hosts. Would have liked to stay more. It's an excellent location for exploring Normandy beaches, cider route, medieval villages, and of course beautiful Bayeaux. My daughter fell in love with the little dogs. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, too.
The location is perfect, near shops, restaurants, and the cathedral. The garden is gorgeous, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was VERY friendly! Would definitely stay here again
Outstanding breakfasts Extremely helpful family Wonderful location
The cleanliness of the common area was a concern.
Miriam, the hostess, was welcoming, knowledgeable about Bayeux, served a charming breakfast on silver. Pierre, her son, lifted our heavy suitcases to our room, and told us about the best restaurants. Our stay was perfect, and I would highly recommend les Chambres d'Hôtes Villa Aggarthi!!
Charming, well-labeled, easy-to find B&B walking distance from train station and the charming town of Bayeaux. No need for a car here! Hosts (mom with help from son & daughter) were welcoming & accommodating. All spoke great English (though they let us practice our French). Got excellent suggestions for museum viewing, restaurants, and Normandy beach tours. We stayed 4 nights!
very helpful hostess who spoke very good English and the location and presentation was great
