Mercure Chamonix Les Bossons

I arrived after the resto had closed but the hotel very happily arranged a very good meal at the bar; Yoiu get the feeling that the staff would go out of their way to assist you if they were able. The breakfast was well above standard for this class of hotel and I shall be staying there again on my return journey.

The hotel is good but to find it is a bit difficult. I knew where it was on the map but when you descend fron the Mont Blanc tunnel there are no signs to guide you which you need as the hotel is a little off the main road. In fact the hotel staff admitted the same problem! Signs on the main road would solve the problem!

location to Chamonix and the staff was wonderful.

Absolutely dreadful breakfast.

The food was the greatest weakness. Dinner was not served for around 45 mins and no explanation was offered for the delay. When it came, the food was very poor - e.g awful (tasteless) pasta dish and over salted meat dish. Breakfast too was completely unsatisfactory - the fresh fruit was some days old and had gone sour (fizzing with bacteria). No explanation offered - and no apology but the staff did not require us to pay for it. For the rest, the hotel is shabby - obviously heavily used for skiiing holidays and showing the effects - damaged facias, stained carpets etc. Over all horribly over-priced and poor value for money. The description gave a very misleading impression of the hotel. (Copied to Trip Adviser)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and we found both the restaurant & other public spaces to be very pleasant. We both enjoyed the meals that we had in the restaurant during our stay.

Attractive building & location though hard to find as out of the way. Access may improve over time? Breakfast was good.

The aircon could not cope with 28 deg. C ambient temps, so v. hot & humid inside. Dinner just adequate. Best to eat out.

It was fancy and comfortable. There was a buffet dinner and the food was pretty good with a lot of variety. The person at the reception was very helpful when we wanted to schedule our train departures. He went out of his way to help.

Away from town. Had to walk to get to it. Its good if you are arriving by car.

Offering was somewhat unclear - different people in the reception gave different prices for how much it would cost to add half-board. The billl was extermely unclear and also incorrect to start out with.

Hotel was spacious and had much potential, and was well located just outside Chamonix and near the ski slopes. Staff were friendly, but a little young and inexperienced.

The rooms and hotel in general were very cold, and the heating inadequate. On the second morning, there was no hot water and the scrambled eggs were almost frozen!

La réservation bien que confirmée par mail et le prix prélevé sur mon compte la réservation n'était pas faite. Nous avons eu par chance la dernière chambre qu'il restait entre 5 cars de japonais !
