Would have liked an additional mirror near window for natural lighting for make-up and hair. Would have liked more coat hangers. Taxi fares from hotel very expensive but they did turn up on time.
Breakfasts are excellent, room very good,. Hotel on bus route and 10 minutes to tram route.Relatively easy to find hotel when we drove in .Secure parking.Good local restaurants at quay area 10 minutes walk.
Evening meal (our choices anyway)were not brilliant, could have been better value for money.
excellent hotel for the price
restaurant was a let down
Staff Parking for free Large bed
Location a little run down
a bit too far from centre
Near Public Garden with restaurant; 15 minute walk into downtown Bordeaux. 7 minutes from city Tram.Bordeaux is a small city with everything within walking distance or a tram or bus ride. Friendly people, good restaurants, plenty of shopping and just fun to walk around.
All shops closed on Sunday.
Good area to be central Bordeaux
The property has nice rooms and a bar/restaurant.
The room was designed in a strange way: the toilet was separate from the bathroom, so one had to walk around the room to get to a place where one could wash one's hands.... Silly! The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the tram that takes you to the train station or you can take a bus and transfer to the tram...
We chose this hotel/location for proximity to our BDX family residences, and the quality of accommodations were an added bonus. Excellent breakfast buffet, by the way.
We weren't informed by the reception that the room lights only worked if one's room key was inserted into special receptacle for that purpose. A very friendly housekeeping person helped sort it for us. Also, never could quite master the AC controls - should have informed reception about apparent problem.
Poor Bar Long wait for attention barman almost surly.
Easy check in. Room was clean and comfortable.
Drinks were expensive. Breakfast was not worth the cost. The fire alarm went off twice, early on Sunday morning causing guests to get up and evacuate rooms on the first occasion. No apology from staff who were all very confused.
EXTREME KINDNESS AND DISPONIBILITY OF THE STAFF AT THE RESTAURANT AND AT THE RECEPTION CONGRATULATIONS GUYS
- MERCURE is normally between SOFITEL and NOVOTEL in terms of value for money but in this case it just barely match NOVOTEL... A bit disappointing... The location is really surprising (negatively) Food was OK but nothing really outstanding Room was average value for money just on the low side but still OK I will not choose this hotel next time i will be in Bordeaux but i will be happy to consider another ACCOR in the center of the city
Very good w/e rate. Just a bit far from Center for going out at night (about 1/2 hour walk).
OVERPRICED OLD DECORATION NOT AT ALL 4 STARS
Hotel clean , friendly staff.
Out dated rooms, bold reds & greens 80's over kill.
the heating in the bedroom was not efficient
There was a breakdown in the water heating system ie no hot water in te morning No infos from staff, no apologies , no commercial proposal, only little smile with "bad luck" Unaccepatble !! I guess Mercure should propose some sort of compensation for such a situation
Comfortable bed, pillows, bathroom facilities Breakfast offer Staff Cleanliness of room
Excessively hot room (problem with heating, had to change rooms, technician first told us to open window to cool room down) Horrible red and green decor in first (standard) room, wallpaper peeling near floor, scuff marks everywhere, TV sound very bad.
The rooms were very nice and the staff excellent
This is a conference hotel and is very large 230plus rooms, its location is away from the centre a bus or taxi ride of about 10-15 mins
Proximity to vineyards; proximity to city centre, parking
Good location. Excellent breakfast. Bar drinks good value. Convenient car park. Very easy check-in. Even received a room upgrade.
Poor quality food. Rooms are quite expensive & well worn - in need of renovation, bathrooms very poor state. My visit was late October-air conditioning was on in hotel, but not in. bedrooms in temps of 20 C-explanation given was that it was too cold! Spent a very uncomfortable night-would not re-visit.
Large comfortable bed
Little far from centre of town
Friendly Reception, good English spoken, near to river and heart of city. Restaurant and bar in hotel. Clean modern comfortable room, good WiFi. Easy access to Bordeaux centre, excellent Tram system
I booked with booking.com and when I got to this hotel maud at reception told me they were booked out and had no room for us. I showed them my booking and she said there was a problem with the system!!! I told them I had booked in god faith and if there was a problem with the system it was up to them to sort it and me out. As it was getting late at night I explained I was willing to stay in any type of room. I told her we were on holiday and had no contacts or phone numbers. They said they had none. They said they could do nothing. I said I needed alternate accommodation. They rang a few hotels but told me bordeaux was full! We stayed in the hotel reception for about half an hour as we tried to figure out what to do and were basically ignored. We had to leave the hotel. I was crying and very upset as I knew we had nowhere to go. Thank god we had hired a car and at least had somewhere to go otherwise we would have been out on the street. Not that the mercure cared. We drove around for a while but eventually had to resign ourselves to sleep in the car. Moral of the story is stay away from this unhelpful hotel and don't book with booking.com.
