This former 18th-century post office is now a charming hotel in one of Bayeux’s oldest quarters. It provides a 24-hour front desk and is just a quarter mile from the Bayeux Tapestry Museum.

The room we had was beautiful and the bathroom was amazing! The staff were super helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious! The walk into town is short and pleasant :)
We like to walk but if you don't/can't then it may be a little far out
Lovely staff, big rooms and decent Restaurant, great WIFI.
It was very pleasant all round.
Very nice country retreat with friendly staff. Rooms well appointed as are other rooms like lounge and dining room. A little too far from the centre of Bayeaux to walk
Not central enough for us
We had Room No:1 which had walk-in shower in huge bathroom and large bedroom with a fridge.
Breakfast was probably not worth paying for if you are used to USA/Aussie style Hotel buffet breakfasts
The hotel required refurbishment
We stayed for two nights at this former chateau just outside Bayeux. Although most visitors probably come by car, this hotel is walking distance to the train station and to the city center. The accommodations were spacious and beautifully decorated...luxurious bathroom. Restaurant on the premises was a bonus. A blazing fireplace added warmth to the cold winter day. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Upon check-in there was no one at the desk, but eventually a maid came upon some ringing of the desk bell. Later at dinner our reservations seemed to have been forgotten, but we did get dinner in the end. Perhaps there is some short staffing and poor communication. Nothing to spoil our stay. Otherwise, instant coffee in the room with the hot water would have been a nice addition.
The location was amazing!
We had difficulty connecting to the internet from our room (separate building).
The lovely young lady at reception who was very helpful and was kind when I received news of the death of my friend in France. I appreciated breakfast being brought to my room and the late check-out too as I felt very sad.
Not being able to have a meal at the residence the night we arrived. Nothing good was open in the town aand it was Sat night!.
spacious duplex family units. great food for both evening meal and breakfast (all fresh, local products). Good choice of wines and really appreciated how the restaurant staff were able to adapt the menu to children's tastes and requirements.
We drove up the driveway at dusk and Chateau de Bellefontaine looked like something from a fairytale! Our room was lovely, and even though it had some problems with power initially, the staff were onto finding a solution within minutes. A lovely place to stay. The dining room and breakfast rooms were lovely.
Meals were very nice but a little over priced.
Excellent rooms with comfortable bed, very clean, friendly staff and good food.
Gorgeous grounds, lovely venue and good location.
All of it really with no complaints. However it was unusual to find an establishment of such excellence that ran out of Ricard!! Your Christmas lighting, both inside and out, deserves special mention. We liked your head waiter. He was very professional and helpful and his command of the English language was excellent. We wish him well at the Chateau.
Gardens and decor of chateau, proximity to Bayeaux.
Residents lounge to small, unable to sit down for drinks before meal, seating area occupied by family not dining in. No kettle in room.
Location is perfect for me: country feel on the edge of town but only 5 minute walk to centre of town. Beautiful building, grounds and rooms. Restaurant was very good too.
There were no negatives really. Very minor points: not much light in the bedroom (room 3) and you can't take your key with you when you go out for the day. Just to be clear though - I loved this hotel
Beautiful grounds, authentic French feel, free parking and easy access.
Breakfast was too pricey, not super close to Bayeux town sites and shops.
All of it .
Price of drinks and no shower .
After a Miserable first night, we were given a much much nicer room
Everything is old!! And out of date. Excellent location. Lovely stream and bridge in the large front yard with wonderful swans and ducks and two large rats swimming along the shore. I swear.
Lovely decor, cosy room, really comfy bed, great value
Staff were fantastic Country/manor house feel Beds and rooms Out of town but 10min walk into it Only 10 min walk to Station
Wifi in Annex is weak or non-existant but good in foyer/lounge and great in rooms in the main building
Welcome Comfortable bed Pleasant grounds
Expensive breakfast Thin towels
spectacular chateau in quiet rural setting, yet it was a short walk away from the train station and downtown. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. Best value for money that we experienced in France.
Rug in room needs replacing (stained) and shower fixture took some experimenting to figure out.
Location, staff friendliness, room decor
Tea/Coffee should be provided in the rooms.
Beautiful old château located conveniently in Reims. Walking distance to the tapestry and other features of the town and an easy drive to the Normandy beaches.
Light, large airy room, a little lacking in privacy unless the curtains were pulled. Excellent bed, bathroom facilities. Wonderful selection for breakfast.
The dinner was disappointing-dry overcooked chicken tasting of hot fat and greasy chips-inedible. The worst meal we have ever had in France. Service slow.No regional dishes on menu. Catering for Americans?
