freindly and helpful staff. Great restaurant.
When I booked the hotel, I planned it only a place for an overnight sleep, expecting nothing more. But when we arrived in this 12th century castle, we were more than surprised to find a lot of perfect things, like the great location right next to the Lake Geneva with direct open view, great history, interesting floor plan and decorations, etc. And the staffs are really friendly and helpful, who direct us to the 2 floor with luggage taking as well. A sure to come back place.
You need to be ready of no elevator and since it's a huge castle, you might get the room far away from the entrance, so...it might be really painful when carrying your luggage up and down, left to right~
Private shore location on the French side of Lac Leman, minutes away from 12 century village of Yvoires. Reception and beyond expectations services provided by both Adriana and Sabrina, and their willingness to open every door available, and make you feel like the lord of the castle. Cost for value excellent.
Confirmation from the castle advising of non refundable cost of 80% between 8 and 3 days prior to arrival, not indicated in the booking.
Great location. Stuntable lake view. Old and impressive castle. Beautiful garden.
First - unreal old dust in the numbers. It is strange that no one told about musty atmosphere, especially for allergic people. It is because of old furniture, but no problem to clean it time to time. Second - foto doesn't correspond to real number, because they are two-level. It can be highly inconvenient for old people or for couple with children or for my prengant wife (WC on the first floor, bed on the second). Refresh room photos, please. As overal conclusion I feel that owner "cast adrift" this beautiful place. No one cares about Castle. It's sad because the Castle deserves more.
Staying in a castle with its ambience and history but with all modern comforts. Staff were excellent.
lac leman beer... personal taste but worst beer of the trip
Very friendly, welcoming and courteous staff. Late arrival was no problem, nor was re-booking for second thanks to the very helpful and charming Sabrina. In fact, this family-owned chateau is about making the guest feel welcome. The setting on the lake is sumptuous, the pool pleasant and each room (tried two rooms over two nights) individual in characteristics. Located in a private enclave with a guardlodge, so a quiet and very relaxing stay. For me, it was well-worth the drive time from Genevea just to be able to stay at this hotel.
As frequent business- and leisure-traveller, I find nothing to dislike and it compares very favourably. A new favourite hotel for me.
The rich historical association and aesthetics of the establishment accompanied by the picturesque views of the lake made this a truly memorable stay - memories that will be treasured for a life time.
Minor inconveniences that did not take anything away from the experience of staying in a grand old Château: hairdryer didn't work - but staff were kind enough to arrange a replacement; fridge wasn't cold; had to take luggage up a few flights of stairs (thats what husbands are for...right ???).
After complaining about our room, we were moved to a better room with a view of the lake.
The restaurant staff were disinterested in explaining the menu to us in English. Therefore, we were given meals that were not ordered and one was undercooked. When we moved to our second room, we were charged an extra 100 Euro per night. But tat was better than spending 3 nights in a 12 x 12 box, with one tiny window, which had a box provided, so that one could stand on, to look out of. Totally unsatisfactory. The upgraded room had a tiny shower, directly opposite the entry door, with no soap holder and nowhere to put your soap, beside the basin. The bed had only 1 bedside table and floor mats were old and frayed Overall, the place is a little tired and in need of a bit of TLC. The price was the most expensive of all our accommodation, delivering the least.
The experience of staying in a Chateau with friendly staff, excellent food and a lovely location
Would have preferred a more stylish interior decor
The place was quiat conftable
Loved to be able to stay in such a historic building. The food in the evening was great. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Grounds and local area were well kept and nice
No hot food at breakfast and the coffee and tea were very weak and flavourless. Also two single beds pushed together does not make a double bed!
Bar, Lake, Outside space
Room was a bit outdated
Friendly staff, romantic atmosphere.
Address is hard to find.
I liked the atmosphere of the hotel, the lake view, the breakfast, and the antiques.
